Some faces feat♔ure in multiple titles, such as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Leon Kennedy. But there are always new heroes and villains in every instalment. So, overall, there has been a litany of different characters in the RE series. They range in quality, with the following ones managing to stand out from the pack.

Updated March 31, 2023 By Ben Jessey: The Resident Evil series continually adds new characters to its canon. In fact, every single game sees new faces join th🌱e cast. As such,🍷 lists ranking the best Resident Evil characters can quickly go out of date.

This piece is no different in that regard, as it doesn't account for the folks in Resident Evil Village. Plus, the Resident Evil 4 Remake may have altered the standing of certain characters. So, we thought we'd return to the list to add a few more entries and see if we're happy with the current ranking.

18 ๊ Rebecca Chambers

Resident Evil Zero Screenshot Of Rebecca Pointing Gun At Camera

In canon, Rebecca is one of the unluckiest characters in the series since the nightmare she faces in Resident Evil Zero is immediately followed up by the Mansion Incident from the 🅷original game. So, she finds herself amid two zombies incident two 🌞days in a row.

However, it doesn't seem to phase her too much, as she remains a sweet and positive young woman throughout it all. This is what makes her a good character, as she is capable of facing the biggest dangers without ever changing who she is.

17 Billy Coen ღ

Capcom Resident Evil Zero Billy Coen

Billy Coen has one of the most compelling backstories in the series. He begins Zero as a prisoner convicted of killing innocents during his stint as a marine. Yet, you later find out that it was all a cover-up, and he was fram🥂ed. As such, Billy𓆉 immediately goes from an untrustworthy figure to a sympathetic one.

On top of having a strong backstory, he's pretty entertaining and shares a good rapport with Rebecca. So much so that he only needed a single appearance to make a lasting impression.

16 ﷽Karl Heisen🌞berg

RE heisenberg looking into camera

Alcina Dimitrescu is the Resident Evil Village villain that gets the most attention - especially pre-release - but Heisenberg is arguably the star of the show. He's a very witty rogue with cool and unique powers that allow him to manipulate metal objects. It's very rare for a RE character to have these sorts of abilities, which helps Heisenberg stand out.

He also stands out among Mother Miranda's lieutenants because he isn't just a loyal follower. The guy has a mind of his own and recognizes the mistreatment he's received. This makes him a more compelling adversary.

15 Sheva Alomar ꦍ

Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil

Resident Evil 5 is the only main game in the series to include Sheva. Since then, she has been missing, but for fans, she will always be remembered as their partner in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:first main co-op game of the series.

From a gameplay perspective, she can bꦆe annoying due to some questionable AI. But as a character, Sheva is very likable. She is a noble hero who is determined to protect and avenge nations of people. This meshes well🅷 with Chris, whose motives are more personal.

14 Nikolai Zinoviev 💖

Nikolai is one of those stereotypical Russian bad guys. He has the accent and the almost too-obvious villainous name to 👍boot.

That being said, the character still manages to stand out, primarily because he isn't just a stooge that is doing what Umbrella is ordering. The guy also tries to betray them for his own benefit, making him one of the least trustable characters in the series. That is saying something, considering Resident Evil games are filled with traitors.

13 🐎 ꧙ Barry Burton

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Barry Burton Face Shot

Barry is responsible for several of the most memorable 🦋quotes in Resident Evil history. Admittedly, most of his famous w♎ords are well-known because of how laughably cringy they are. Still, those silly lines from the original game are part of what makes him 𝓡popular.

On top of that, he's simply a good person. The guy regularly puts himself in harm's way in an attempt to protect someone. In the original game, he made sure Jill was safe, and in Revelations 2, he protected Natalia.

12 Claire Redfield ൲

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Screenshot Of Claire Redfield Looking At Her Bracelet

Claire hasn't always been treated with the respect she deserves by Capcom. The other original characters, Chris, Jill, and Leon, have appeared more frequently than her and have been treated as bigger deals. Yet, despite barely appearing in recent years, fans still love Claire.

Unlike most of the other protagonists in the series, she doesn't have incredible amounts of training. She wasn't a member of S.T.A.R.S. or even a standard police officer. She has to use her natural ingenuity and talent to survive zombie attacks. That makes her a true badass.

11 Jac🐎k Baker

Jack Baker from Resident Evil

Of the Baker family, Jack is the one that lives longest in the memory. He i🐽s the patriarch and the one that chases you throughout the beginning portion o♏f Resident Evil 7, setting the tone for the spooky game.

During this stage of the adventure, he does several things no fan will ever forget. He chops his son's hand off, rams through a wall like the Kool-Aid man, and slices a cop's head in half. So, it's fair to say that he makes an impression.

10 🌞 Jake Muller

Jake Muller Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 6 is not beloved by everyone. That said, one of the f𓆉ew positives of the experience is Jake’s campaign. Jake himself, along with the grown💝-up Sherry Birkin, are among the best characters in the title.

Being the son of Wesker means he's interesting from the start, especially as he has some of his father's moves. More than that, though, he has plenty of charisma, and his witty dialogue is a constant source of entertainment.

9 Ramon Salazar ♉

ramon salazar and verdugo in resident evil 4 remake

The Resident Evil series is known for its cheese, and when it comes to villains, they are like an extra cheese on ch🎐eese topping. One of the most ridiculous is Ramon Salazar from Resident Evil 4, who looks like he escaped from the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

He’s a small impish man that plays it over the top like a Saturday morning cartoon villain. It might even be too ridiculous for the franchise, but that overacting also helps fans remember him. He's a bit less silly and more threatening in the Remake. But there is still a cheesy element to him.
