However, though there's ample reason to be excited, there are a few features that have usꦍ a bit worried. Why did Chris Redfield seemingly kill Mia i? What's up with the werewolves? Where exactly is this story going? Don't misunderstand, we're definitely amped, but we're also desperate for explanations.

10 Worried: Occult Elements 🐟

While series like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Silent Hill and168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Fatal Frame have relied heavily on supernatural and occult elements, Capcom's Resident Evil series has always based its horror in semi-realistic scenarios involving malignant corporate activity and grotesque mutations. Resident Evil 8, however, seems set to change that, introducing out-there concepts like we🥂rewolves, vampires, and who knows what else.

Obviously, Resident Evil is no stranger to outlandish, over-the-top plots, but this may be a bridge too far for the series, and we're worried that Capcom may be steering the series away from the positive direction it had taken during Resident Evil 7.

9 Excited: 🌃A New Mansion To Explore

The first few Resident Evil titles on the original PlayStation set up a pretty consistent structure for the series. From the halls of the mysterious Spencer Mansion in RE 1 to the tight corridors of the RPD in RE 2 and the twisted streets of Racoon City in RE 3, tight, controlled level desi🐼gn has been the bread-and-butter of these gam💟es.

Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6, got away from this, but 7 brought it back with the wonderfully horrid Baker mansion. The Resident Evil 8 trailer seems to indicate that players will once again be exploring the halls of a warped estate, and🔯 we simply can't wait!

8 Worrꦦied: Too Experimental?

We're no doubt excited to see whatever Capcom has in store for us, particularly given the . However, the new trailer indicates that Resident Evil 8 won't be😼 adhering to the established series formula, and that could spell trouble.

What happened the last time Capcom decided to mess around with Resident Evil? We ended up with Umbrella Corps. Before that? Resident Evil 6 and Operation Racoon City. We understand that two of those titles weren't intended to be mainline entries, but we know that the words "Capcom" and "experimentꩵal" don't mesh all that well.

7 🐎 Excited: Enemy Variety

Resident Evil 7 was undoubtedly a welcomed return to form for the long-running survival horror franchise, but it came with its own share of faults. Most notably, the enemy variety was extremely lacking, with just about every standard enemy being some form 🥃of the gray goop monsters the💧 game refers to as "The Molded."

They served as stand-ins for the series typical zombie enemies, but it would have been nice to have a bit more variety. Fortunately, Resident Evil 8 seems to have us covered. With zombies, werewolves, vampires, and who knows what else ready to rip us apart, it'𝕴s sure to be a gloriously gore-filled experience.

6 𝔍 Worried: The End Of Chris Redfield?

Fans were thrilled to see Chris Redfield appear in the Resident Evil 8 trailer—and with an all-new model that looked a thousand times better than the atrocity which befell his Resident Evil 7 cameo.

However, some rumors suggest that, rather than the typical upstanding hero we know him to be, Resident Evil 8's Chris Redfield will take on. Some have speculated that he'll kill Etha🔜n and Mia Winters—something we may have even seen take place in the trailer—and others suggesting that he may even meet his end before the credits roll.

5 🔥 Excited: Next-Gen Visuals

Most gamers were a bit disappointed by the leap be🉐tween seventh and eighth console generations. Though we were promised everything from 4k becoming the norm to every major game release supporting VR to a 60 FPS standard, none of that came to fruition to the degree to which we were hoping.

However, the jump from the eighth generation to the ninth is shaping up to be a major one. The Resident Evil 8 trailer showcased cha🐽racter models and environmental details previously thought to be impossible, and we can🌠't wait to see what the RE Engine is capable of given this huge hardware upgrade.

4 Worried: Weird Story Elements ⛄

It's no secret that the Resident Evil series isn't exactly known for its story. In-depth and though out though it may be, its overly-h🦩oaky scenarios and Saturday-morning-cartoon villains make for an overall lꦐaughable narrative which few truly care for.

We have next to no idea what this new installment is going to be about, but we're already slightly worried that Capcom is going to mess things up. Resident Evil 5 and 6 were complete narrative trainwrecks, and even RE 7 began to fall apart oncꦛe it came time to fight the final boss. We haven't seen anything to suggest anything too silly thus far, but, with Capcom, it's a near inevitability.

3 Excited: Vampire Babes? 🦩

We still have a ton of questions about what Capcom showed off in the Resident Evil 8 trailer, and we'd absolutely love to know wh💞at's up with the ultra-spooky, near-identical womꦡen we see looming over the camera in the closing moments.

Most assume that they're vampires, and that's a logical conclusion given the confirmation of werewolves in the game. However, some believe that the most prominently-featured character in this quick clip could actually be Resident Evil Revelations 2. It's a long-shot, ꦆbut, when it comes to Resident Evil, fans should never say never!

2 Worried: Return Of Ethan A🦩nd Mia

The trailer essentially confirmed that Ethan and Mia Winters from Resident Evil 7 will be returning and will likely play a fairly major role in the game's story. Though this may seem innocuous, it may cause some hardcore RE fans to worry.

As fantastic as RE 7 was overall, it's protagonist, Ethan Winters, fell a bit flat. Though not a silent protagonist, he felt very one-dimensional and poorly fleshed out. Should this continue in Resident Evil 8, community disdain toward Ethan will reach new height🐓s.

1 Excited: The Return ⛦Of Umbrella?

Aside from some very subtle Easter eggs and hints and some references to the newly-formed "Blue Umbrella" toward the end of the game, Resident Evil 7 had almost nothing to do with longtime series antagonists Umbrella. Yet, though we don't have any solid evidence, eagle-eyed viewer༒s drew connections between Umbrella's logo and a certain symbol shown repeatedly throughout the trailer.

Segmented in a way that feels reminiscent of the aforementioned symbol, some fans believe that Resident Evil 8's trailer couꦬld be hintingಞ at the fact that the story will deal with the origins of the nefarious corporation.
