Sure, he🌱aring Nemesis’ guttural “Stars” as he gives chase is creepy, but not as much as Mr. ꦦX’s silent pursuit. Hearing his footsteps echo in the RCPD station was a constant sense of dread.
Sure, he may seem silly running around a table to get at players like some sort of cartoon, especially when Nemesis would assuredly just rip the table out of the way, but he still h🌌as more impact as a nemesis than Nemesis.
8 Nemesis: Prizes
In thඣe original game, Nemesis dishes out prizes like he was some sort of Gashapon system. From first aid kits to gun parts, he had it all. So while the loot is lesser in the remake, it’s still more than what Mr. X gives out, which is nothing. True, it may make more sense for Mr. X not to drop goodies, but where is the fun in that? Getting a reward for a sweaty battle is sweet.
7 Mr. X: No Weakness
As engaging as the one-on-one battles with Nemesis can get, he is easier to take down than Mr. X. While one could point out that his hat is a weak point, shooting it does not do damage to Mr. X. On the other hand, Nemesis is full of weak points in his multiple forms from his defibrillator to his flamethrower tank. If a player is skilled enough t🔴hey can take Nemesis down no problem, whereas Mr. X is just an indestructible tank for most of the game.
6 Nemesis: His Speed
Mr. 🌌X’s silence is creepy and his brick house-like structure is frightening, but Nemesis, as big as he is, is faster. Players should be thankful 🃏for his many weaknesses, because otherwise, they would be at a complete disadvantage from his speed.
Good luck trying to outrun him. His𒉰 tentacles will either stop players in their tracks, or he will jump ahead of them like some sort of ninja. It is incredible to witneꦓss given how one-note he was in the original game.
5 Mr. X: Realistic Placement
This sort of goes along with his golden silence, but what made Mr. X so frightening was that players could guess where he was. Like Jaws, his footsteps were like a musical cue in the RCPD station. That may make some argue then that he is weaker. Except for hearing “Stars” and the music getting ramped up, it’s harder to tell where Nemes💮is is. This means it is harder to hide and is more exhilarating, but not as suspenseful. Mr. X’s placement in the world just made more sense seeing as how Nemesis could seemingly teleport at will.
4 Nemesis: Armed To The Teeth
Going back to the subject of Nemesis’ flamethrower, the brutal giant was constantly armed to the teeth. He started off with brute strength and tentacles before moving onto a flamethrower, rocket launcher, and then started 🔯evolving. His arsenal was vast and made engagements feel more fresh.
3 Mr. X: Fist Of The North Star
Getting to see a different side of Nemesis every time was indeed great from a gameplay persp𓃲ective. However, the very fact that Mr. X needed only his fists to strike damage and fear ဣis also a point on his side.
Having him slowly walk toward players with an axe à la The Shining is the only way it could have been creepier. There must be a mod for that somewhere🌃 though.
2 Nemesis: The Akira Is Strong In This One
This was briefly touched on already, but Nemesisಌ evolves more times than a standard Pokémon does in the video games. He goes from man thing, to beast thing, to a bigౠger beast thing, to a slug, to a demonic tree. The designs are haunting to say the least, even if they don’t make sense by the end of the game. 1 Mr. X: The Dapper Gentleman
Nemesis’ many forms could go on the wall of fame of vile creatures in video games, making monsters in Bloodborne even blush. However, Mr. X’s simple, 1930s dapper gentleman attire is a case of juxtaposition. It breathes false air to what kind of a monster he really is. Imagine if the Terminator looked like this. Sure, the leather jacket and sunglasses were cool, but they weren’t stylish. The very 🉐fact Mr. X opens doors like a normal human and even picks up his hat makes him more terrifying.
