Capcom revealed at Summer Game Fest last week that it's pulling 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from an incredibly obscure place for its new protagonis༺t: the multiplayer PS2 spin-off Outbreak. Running parallel to RE2 and RE3, it follows eight ordinary folk as they fight through Raccoon City, not only to escape the undead, but also the exper🅠imental thermobaric missile that the US is about to fire.
It was a well-received game that sold just over one million copies, but trapped on decades-old hardware, it's not one that many fans will have played. Yet in the new trailer, we were introduced to Grace Ashcroft, daughter to Outbreak survivor Alyssa Ashcroft. Understandably, the community is eager to find out more about the pair, with the fan-run servers hitting an all-time peꦚak of 5,635 players (via ).
Outbreak was the first co-op game in the series.
If you want to joinﷺ everyone in flocking back to Outbreak, thankfully, unlike a lot of other retro games, it won't burn a hole in your wallet. Copies range from as little as $15 to $55 on eBay, and some of those are even bundled with other games in the series like RE4. Just don't be fooled by the extortionately priced ones, which are no doubt hoping to capitalise off the Requiem hype.
However, if you do buy a Japanese copy to play online, you'll also need a Japanese PℱS2 and network adaptor. Once you're reaꦫdy, , and you can get plenty of help from if you need.
Fans Are Hoping For A Resident Evil Outbreak Remaster
It was a strange surprise to find out that the newest Resident Evil lead is the daughter of a character from a niche PS2 game that hasn't been ported to current-gen, and which requires all of that preamble to get up and running. Hell, if it weren't 🦂for fans, there would be no way to play Outbreak online, and it's a miserable experience solo.
With that in mind, so that newcomers can find out more about Alyssa Ashcroft without having to jump through so many hoops. A remake might be far-fetched (especially with rumours swirling around RE5 and Code Veronica), but we have seen classic Resident Evil games ported🐓 to PC and PS5 in the last year, so perhaps Outbreak could follow suit.
Some have even suggested that Capcom could bundle Requiem with a port of Outbreak, much like how Village included RE:Verse. It'd be a treat to play through the first co-op Resident Evil game all these years l🌸ater with friends, but whether that's Capcom's plan, or if Grace Ashcroft is j🌳ust a fun homage to tie her back to Raccoon City, we'll have to wait and see.
