Its introduction in the Resident Evil remake is great, with the spider looming over you and coming to attack. In addition, these classic RE games had a poison status. These spiders were one of the main creatures to inflict poison, and you were always worried running by them, hoping you don't get sprayed.
8 Neptune

6 Tyrants
Another recurring baddie throughout the classic games is the Tyrants. Virtually every classic entry has one, but they are different each time. The finalꩵ boss of the first game is the Tyrant model T-002. Its fast-charging attack and rough damage make it a fitting last battle in both versions. Then in RE2, there's the Tyrant model T-103, which hunts down Leon and Claire.
These can transform into Super Tyrants, making them even more deadly. In RE3, Nemesis is actually a Tyrant variant, and he's one of the best villains in all of horror gaming. There are also Tyrants in RE0, Code: Veronica, Outbreak, and Umbrella Chronicles.
5 Crows
Crows appear in both the classic and modern titles but are only hostile in the former. Their presence is small but impactful. It's creepy that these crows are even infected by the T-Virus and eating flesh. In the Resident Evil remake, there's an area named the West Wing Outer Stairway.
The first time going through there, a dead body is lying on the floor. When you go through that area later, the body is gone, and seven crows stand on the rafters, implying they ate it. That's a creepy hidden detail, plus the deadly crows are a nice homage to Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
4 Gatling G🍌unner
JJ in RE4 and the Gatling Gun Majini in RE5 are technically two different enemies, but they are basically the same. Design-wise, they're so close alike. Since the minigun fires so quickly, they actually deal more damage per second than the other minibosses. They can feel downright cheap at times. 2 Lickers
While not as deadly as ﷽the Hunters, due to lacking an instant kill move, Lickers are definite🐻ly scarier. Their crawling noises and breathing sounds are freaky as all heck, and gameplay-wise, there quite interesting. Lickers are actually blind and must rely on noise to determine a target, which means you can nimbly tip-toe around them to get by.
This can be pretty challenging, though, and nerve-wracking in the process. The Lickers also have multiple forms, with an Evolved Licker appearing later on in the classic RE2. They were dormant for a while after the classic games, but Lickers reappeared in Resident Evil 5 and were a welcome addition to that title's enemy roster.
1 Zombies
Without Zombies, there would be no Resident Evil. One of the core influences of the original game was George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead, which created the modern Zombie in pop culture.
