Most series that last this long feature a slew of completely self-contained stories instead of one long narrative. For instance, there isn't much connection between each main Final Fantasy entry - excluding the multi-part affairs.
Yet, Resident Evil is different. Each game has a mostly self-contained plotline, b🌺ut it serves as a chapter of a longer story. Therefore, pretty much everything is connected. And here is how every game fits together in one Resident Evil Timeline.

There is no better way to figure out how everything fits together than looking at a complete Resident Evil timeline. And we just so happen to have already made one. In this update, we've returned to it to make sure that the thing is still clear and accurate.
1919 - 1998: Important Events Before The Games
Origins Of Mother Miranda And The Mold
The Resident Evil timeline begins long before the events of the games. In fact, it began back in 1919 when Mother Miranda's daughter died from the Spanish Flu. This led to a period of depression for Miranda until she found and was infected by the special fungus known as Mold.
The Mold fungus changes its host's genes, turning them into superhumans with increased strength, durability, and insane regeneration capabilities.
Some even gaiౠn the power to control other individual🦋s infected with Mold.
From there, she made it her mission to use the substance to revive her daughter. The idea was that she could create a superhuman to serve as a vessel for her child to take over. So, she started experimenting on the residents of a nearby village for many years.
Origins Of Oswell E. Spencer, The Progenitor Virus, And Umbrella
In the 1950s, Miranda met and became the mentor to Oswell E. Spencer. She let him in on her expඣeriments, and in the process, he became very interested inꦜ the idea of human mutation.
Eventually, he left Miranda's side, as the two had different goals. She would continue trying to find a way to resurrect her daughter while he began to research ways to, in his mind, reach the next stage of human evolution.
Spencer, along with Edward Ashford, James Marcus, and Brandon Baily, would soon find the Progenitor Virus in West Africa and create the Umbrella Corporation. Spencer served as the CEO and president.
Project W And Project CODE: Veronica
In the 1960s, two important projects took place. They were known as Project W and Project CODE: Veronica. Both had somewhat similar goals, as they intended to create exceptional individuals using the research from the Progenitor Virus.
The CODE: Veronica project was a little different in that the objective was to create a successor of the Ashford dynasty, as Alexander Ashford was the only living member of the clan after the death of his father, Edward. It led to the births of Alexia and Alfred Ashford.
Project W lasted years. It consisted of adopting children by various means, giving them the last name 'Wesker,' and mentoring their progress as they grew up. The two most notable were Albert and Alex.
The Creation Of The T-Virus
In the 1970s, Umbrella finally combined the Progenitor Virus with Leech DNA to create the Tyrant Virus (T-Virus) in an 🌳important moment in the Resident Evil t🎶imeline.
Usually, the T-Virus works much like a standard zombie virus where the victims lose their mental capacities and start ಞto attack or fea🌳st on nearby creatures.
However, there are also some variants, like Lickers and Pale Heads, that𒊎 have different powers. In a few cases, the victim even gains superhuman abilities and keeps some control over their own mind.
It was virologist James Marcus who accomplished that goal. Yet he ended up being betrayed by Spencer, who had a young Umbrella scientist named William Birkin and Albert Wesker take the research to the Arklay Mountains. Marcus continued his own research anyway. However, several years later, he was seemingly killed by Wesker.
The Creation Of The T-Veronica Virus
The T-Veronica Virus was created in the 1980s by Alexia Ashford. She used it on her sort-of father, Alexander Ashford. As a result, he turned into a monster. Later, Alexia used it on herself and went into cryosleep.
As it's heavily based on the T-Virus, the T-Veronica Virus isn't too different biologically. But it does mutate the host more than the st♕andard T-Virus.
On a more positive note, iꦅf the victim spends enough time living with the T-Veronica Virus, they gain some control of their mental facilities.
More William Birkin Experiments
With James Marcus out of the picture, Birkin's role in Umbrella became more significant. During that time, he created both the Hunter and the Tyrant, introducing Bio Organic Weapons (B.O.Ws) to the universe. Then, he discovered the Golgotha Virus (G-Virus) strain and began working on that.
The G-Virus doesn't create zombies. Instead, victims are much more heavily mutated to the point where they no longer resemble hum💃ans.
The mutations also 🅠serveꦍ as a regeneration system, as when part of the body is damaged, the G-virus mutates to fix it. So, a lot of extra limbs are created.
1998: The Arklay Mountains Outbreak (Events Of Resident Evil 0 And Resident Evil)
Events Of Resident Evil 0
The Resident Evil game timeline began in 1998 with Resident Evil 0. It all started because James Marcus' body merged with the Queen Leech he was working on at the time of his death.
The result was a monster that targeted Umbrella. Its most notable attacꦉk was on the Ecliptic Express train, which literally stopped it in its tracks. As a result of the ambush, the passengers were infected with the T♍-Virus.
Not long later, Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S) Bravo team member Rebecca Chambers found herself on the train, trying to capture prisoner Billy Co🉐en. Shortly after this, Umbrella sent in a team in an attempt to regain control of the train.
They got it moving at pace, but they were quickly taken out. Rebecca and Billy were forced to work together to stop the locomotive before it crashed.
The two then ended up at an abandoned Umbrella research facility filled with T-Virus monsters. They fought through the place and killed what was left of Marcus before escaping the lab, as Wesker blew it up.
As she realized that there was more to Billy Coen's story than she originally thought, Rebecca let the man go free. She then headed towards The Spencer Mansion.
Events Of Resident Evil
The Queen Leech's attacks didn't just result in infections on the train - the virus spread through the Arklay Mountains. S.T.A.R.S's Alpha team found this out when they traveled there to find Bravo team.
Upon arrival, they immediately got attacked by Cerberus dogs that were created by a specific strain of T-Virus. Some died, while Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, and Wesker - who the rest of the crew didn't know was evil at this point in the Resident Evil timeline - got chased into the Spencer Mansion.
Chris and Jill spent all night trying to survive the horrors of the monster-filled building. In the process, Chris met Rebecca Chambers, who helped him throughout the adventure. As for✅ Jill, her main ally was Barry. Unfortunately, Wesker forced Barry to do his bidding by telling him he was holding his family hostage. So, Burton turned on Jill temporarily.
Toward the end of the game, Wesker released a dangerous T-Virus Tyrant that stabbed the villain and tried to attack the heroes. However, one of the protagonists blew up the monster, and all the heroes managed to escape on the helicopter. Afterward, the mansion blew up due to꧂﷽ its handy self-destruct system.
Aftermath Of The Incident
Shortly after escaping the Mansion, the remaining S.T.A.R.S members demanded an investigation into Umbrella.
Instead, the group was disbanded, so they began their own investigations. Jill did hers in Racco🌺on City, while Chris went to conduct his in🥃 Europe.
1998: The Raccoon City Incident (Events Of Resident Evil 2 And Resident Evil 3)
Not long after the incident at the Arklay Mountains, Umbrella's relationship with William Birkin began to strain, and the company wanted him off the project. So, they sent a team, led by Hunk, to Birkin's lab in an effort to acquire the G-Virus.
It wasn't a completely successful operation, as when Birkin brought out a gun, a member of the Umbrella team shot him. Before he died, Birkin was able to inject himself with a sample of the G-Virus, which turned him into a monster and sent him on a rampage.
In the conflict, some vials containing the T-Virus were spilled and consumed by rats, who subsequently contaminated Raccoon City's drinking water.
Hunk was the only survivor of Umbrella's team, as he managed to escape with a bit of the G-Virus. The contaminated water led to an outbreak in Raccoon City, which is the precursor to Resident Evil 2 and 3.
Much of the events of the second and third games happen at similar times. They both start amid the outbreak in Raccoon City.
Start Of Resident Evil 3
Jill was already in the city when the chaos truly began. However, that wasn't her main problem.
During the outbreak, Umbrella sent out their special tyrant known as Nemesis to wipe out the rem𒀰aining S.T.A.R.S members. Jill and Brad Vickers tried to escape the monster, but the latter faileℱd and was killed in the process.
While being pursued by the tyrant, Jill eventually met up with an Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) team and reluctantly worked with them to escape the city. However, it didn't work, as Nemesis intercepted them. Jill had a few more tussles with the beast before getting infected and passing out.
Events Of Resident Evil 2
Around this time, Leon Kennedy entered the city to start his first day as part of the Raccoon City Police Department (R.C.P.D.) after ignoring the initial warnings to stay away. Claire Redfield also arrived in the city to find her brother Chris. The two characters🅺 attempted to join forces to survive but were split up.
Claire ended up meeting William Birkin's daughter, Sherry. Redfield quickly discovered that the poor girl was infected, so she attempted to save the kid by finding a cure.
Leon ran into the mysterious Ada Wong, who claimed she was investigating Umbrella. Therefore, they formed an uneasy alliance.
All the protagonists made their way through the R.C.P.D station and the sewers before reaching the secret underground lab. Throughout all of this, they had to survive all sorts of monsters, including a heav♕ily mu✤tated William Birkin.
With help from Sherry's mother, Claire was able to create a vaccine for the young girl. As for Leon, he had more difficulties since he was betrayed by Ada Wong, who stole a sample of the G-Virus before being seemingly killed.
Leon, Claire, and Sherry had better luck as they managed to escape the facility before it self-destructed.
End Of Resident Evil 3
U.B.C.S. team member, Carlos Oliviera, cured Jill and got her back on her feet. It wasn't the best time to wake up, as she immediately discovered that the Government was about to nuke the entire city to end the outbreak.
Jill and Carlos's next goal was to get out of there, which they did, but not before Jill finished Nemesis off for good.
1998 - 2002: A Few Less Famous Incidents (Events Of Resident Evil Survivor, Resident Evil: CODE Veronica, And Resident Evil: Dead Aim)
Most of the series spin-off games took place between Resident Evil 3 and 4, starting with Resident Evil Survivor.
Events Of Resident Evil Survivor
At this point in the Resident Evil timeline, the main protagonists were heavily invested in bringing Umbrella down. To that end, Leon sent agent Ark Thompson to Sheena Island, which was under the company's control. Vincent Goldman was running the show there, and once he heard of Thompson's intrusion, he intentionally caused an outbreak to rip the city apart and cover his tracks.
Along with the outbreak, Thompson had to deal with a bout of amnesia. Yet, even with those obstacles, he managed to succeed in killing Goldman's tyrant and rescuing the two chil꧙dꦑren he found on the island.
Events Of Resident Evil: CODE Veronica
A few months after the Raccoon City Incident, Claire went to Europe to find her brother. She ended up being captured by Umbrella and taken to Rockfort Island. At the time, Alfred Ashford was running the place while his sister remained in cryosleep - he would occasionally prete🍨nd to be her.
Claire managed to escape captivity but quickly discovered that she was in the middle of another T-Virus outbreak. She persevered, though, and tried to escape from the island alongside a new ally named Steve Burnside. They got partially away before being forced to stop at an Antarctic outpost.
Around this time, Chris Redfield caught wind of Claire's previous capture and went to Rockfort Island to rescue her. However, when he got there, he found the very much alive Albert Wesker instead, who had gained superpowers from a unique strain of the T-Virus. He also was no longer working for Umbrella, but he was certainly still evil.
After escaping his old captain, Chris went to the Antarctic to save Claire. The siblings couldn't save Steve, though, who risked his life for the Redfield sister.
Eventually, Chris and Claire avenged their fallen comrade when they killed the revived and monstrous Alexia.
Events Of Resident Evil: Dead Aim
In 2002, an Umbrella cruise ship was raided by a terrorist group led by a former member of the company named Morpheus D. Duvall. Years prior, they internally blamed him for one of the company's blunders, and this attack was partially his revenge.
However, after using the T-Virus and B.O.Ws to kill the crew and the rest of his own team, he started making demands to the United States and China. In response, both governments sent agents to stop the villain. While they weren't instructed to work together, they formed an alliance to take down Duvall and his monsters.
Aඣfter succeeding, the two characters escaped before the ship was bombed.
2004: Kidnapping Of The President's Daughter And The Start Of The Plagas Saga (Events Of Resident Evil 4)
In 2004, The U.S. President's daughter, Ashley, was kidnapped by a mercenary called Jack Krauser. He took her on behalf of Osmund Saddler, who was the leader of a cult in Spain called Los Illuminados. The group revolved around a mind-controlling parasite known as Las Plagas.
Plagas are parasites that attach themselves to their hosts' central nervous system. This causes great pain for the victim.
From there, the parasite changes the person's body, increasing their strength and durability - some even mutate. It also opens them up to being controlled by a more dominant Plaga.
They implanted the parasite in Ashley, and their plan was to give her back to the United States, so she could infect important people in the country and have them do Saddler's bidding.
Once he found out where the cult was located, the president sent in Leon Kennedy - who now worked for United States Strategic Command - to rescue his daughter. He🐎 was just supposed to enter the region, find Ashley, and get straight out of there.
However, Ashley's infection and the seemingly unlimited number of infected cult members made things more tricky. He then spent the rest of the adventure trying to find a cure for the young girl and keep her safe.
The hero also had to deal with the reemergence of Ada Wong, who intended to get her hands on the Las Plagas sample for her boss Wesker.
She succeeded but betrayed Wesker by only giving him a lesser version of the Plaga while handing the dominant one over to someone else𒈔 at the same nameless organization. This is because the said organization found out Wesker had started working closely with the Pharmaceutical company Tricell.
As for Leon, with the help of Ada Wong, he succeeded in his mission. Not only did he save Ashely, but he also effectively wiped out the Los Illuminados by killing Saddler.
2004 - 2005: Terragrigia Panic And Queen Zenobia Incident (Events Of Resident Evil: Revelations)
Along with the kidnapping of the president's daughter, another major incident happened in 2004 called the Terragrigia Panic. This was a T-Abyss Virus outbreak that occurred in the floating city of Terragrigia. It was caused by the terrorist group known as Veltro.
The T-Abyss Virus is a ♕variation of the perfected T-Virus. The bodies🐷 of those infected are reconstructed to become something new.
In most cases, they're transformed into powerful grey ooze monsters, which come in various shapes and sizes.
They were instructed by the leader of the Federal Bioterrorism Commission (FBC), Morgan Lansdale. He wanted the attack because it increased the importance of hi꧙s organiza👍tion, and by involving Veltro, he could blame them for the incident.
Amid the panic, the human rights agency known as TerraSave entered the city to help survivors. They ended up rescuing a little girl called Natalia.
After a few weeks of chaos, Lansdale put an end to the whole thing by wiping out the city using a satellite.
Events Of Resident Evil: Revelations
You witness some of the Terragrigia Panic in a flashback during Resident Evil: Revelations, but most of the game takes place the following year.
By this point in the story, Jill and Chris had established and were currently working for the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). Jill's mission began with her and fellow BSAA member, Parker Luciani boarding a ship called Queen Zenobia, looking for Chꦅris and his new partner, Jessicౠa Sherawat.
Chris and Jessica were actually in a snowy mountain region looking for evidence of Veltro. In fact, Jill and Parker were in more danger, as the Queen Zenobia was filled with ooze monsters created by the T-Abyss Virus.
Both duos spend the rest of the game trying to save one another and uncover Veltro's plot. Another BSAA team, containing Keith Lumley and Quint Cetcham, also looked into the issue.
In the process, they all discover the truth about the Terragrigia Panic and Lansdale's involvement in it.
In addition, they learn that their current escapade and the faux reemergence of Veltro were orchestrated by BSAA head Clive R. O'Brian. He did this to find evidence incriminating Lansdale. The biggest piece of evidence, though, was held by Veltro's leader Jack Norman.
So, after making sure there wasn't a T-Abyss outbreak, Jill and Chris tracked the man down. They finished him off, got the evidence, and exposed Lansdale. Meanwhile, Clive R. O'Brian stepped down from his role in the BSAA.
A little later, Jessica received a sample of the T-Abyss Virus from her secret ally Raymond Vester. The two were working for Tricell at the time.
2006 - 2009: Spencer Mansion Raid And West Africa Outbreak (Events Of Resident Evil 5)
Events Of The Lost In Nightmares DLC
A year after their escapades on the Queen Zenobia, Chris and Jill got intel on the location of Oswell. E Spencer, so they traveled to the villain's large home.
The old man was already dead when they got there. He was killed by Albert Wesker, who had just learned the truth about his upbringing and the existence of Project W. Chris and Jill attempted to combat the superpowered villain, but they were no real match for him. In the end, Jill tackled the antagonist out of a window.
Originally, it seemed like the hero died from the fall, but unbeknownst to Chris and the rest of the BSAA, she remained alive. Wesker also lived, and he took her back to Tricell to serve as a test subject.
However, her body's resistance to the T-Virus meant she wasn't useful in that role, so Wesker brainwashed her instead to serve as his puppet.
Events Of Resident Evil 5 And Desperate Escape DLC
A few years later, there was an outbreak in a region of West Africa brought on by Wesker and Tricell. They used the Plagas they gained from Ada Wong in Spain and whatever they got from Krauser's corpse to develop some new viruses. This is what infected the people of West Africa.
In Resident Evil 5, Chris Redfield went to the area to investigate what was happening. Once there, he teamed up with a local agent of the BSAA called Sheva Alomar. They🐭 quickly found out how big of an issue they had when they started to face repeated attacks from mutatꦕed locals.
Things got even more troublesome when they heard about the Uroboros Virus, which was more threatening than the Plagas. This, too, was a Wesker creation. And the villain planned to use missiles to release this new virus all over the world.
The Uroboros virus kills its host and transforms its body into a giant slimy black biomatter mon𝓡ster. In the process, it gains incredible regeneration powers and strength.
Chris and Sheva became the only hope to stop him. Along the way, they had to face multiple Uroboros monsters and even a brainwashed Jill. Thankfully, they managed to free Chris' former partner from Wesker's control. Then, their ally Josh Stone helped get Jill to safety.
Eventually, the two protagonists managed to halt Wesker's plans, which made him desperate. Therefore, he intentionally infected himself with Uroborus. But it didn't make him as unstoppable as he hoped - the heroes were able to destroy the villain once and for all using RPGs.
2011: Sein Island Experiment (Events Of Resident Evil: Revelations 2)
While Albert died, Alex Wesker was still very much alive, and she made her presence felt in 2011. For years prior, she'd been struggling with an illness that was going to kill her at some point.
To combat this, she helped develop the T-Phobos Virus in an effort to create a superhuman being and transfer her consciousness to them. She did her experiments on the people of Sein Island.
The T-Phobos Virus is supposed to create unmutated superhuman beings.
Besides the ability to sense mutants, it is unclear what powers it's supposed to give people because most subjects were failures.
The problem she had was that anytime her subjects became too scared, they'd transform into mutated monsters that were𝓰 no longer viable candidates f🍎or her consciousness.
As such, prior to 2011, she had no subjects left, so she struck a deal with Neil Fisher from TerraSave to force several other members of the organization to be test subjects. T𓆏hey did this by abducting them at a party and bringing t💎hem to the island.
Events Of Claire's Part Of Resident Evil Revelations 2
This serves as the beginning of Resident Evil Revelations 2, as two of the game's main characters were Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, who were among the abductees.
After waking up on the island, Alex Wesker, pretending to be an Overseer, bega🦩n to guide the duo. They thought they were finding a way to escape the island, but Alex was just putting them through more tests.
Along the way, they met with several other test subjects, but most didn't survive for long. Other than Claire and Moria, the only one to remain among the living was a little girl called Natalia.
However, the child eventually got abducted, as she was the prime candidate to serve as Alex's vessel.
Claire and Moira were left to fight Neil Fisher, who Alex had injected with the Uroboros Virus. After their victory, Claire escaped the island, but Moira got trapped under debris.
Events Of The Additional Episodes (The Struggle And Little Miss)
Following this incident, Moira found refuge on the island with a grumpy local named Evgeny Rebic. And for a 💝little over six months, she survived on the island due to overcoming her p🌄revious unwillingness to use guns.
Meanwhile, Natalia attempted to fight off Alex's attempts to take over her body.
Events Of Barry's Part Of Resident Evil Revelations 2
Both characters seemed screwed until Barry Burton arrived on the island to find his daughter. The first person he met there was Natalia. And for the rest of the adventure, he served as the girl's protector. It was a๊n important job since Ale𓃲x was desperate to get her hands on Natalia.
During most of this escapade, Barry believed his daughter to be dead, so he focused on stopping Alex. This got more difficult when the villain used the Uroboros Virus to turn into a monster and attempt to kill the protagonists.
Thankfully, Moira appeared and helped save them from the beast. Then, Claire arrived on a helicopter to also lend a hand. In the end, she was the one to kill the antagonist with a rocket launcher.
Afterward, Natalia moved in with the Burton clan, and all seemed fine. However, unbeknownst to the family and Claire, Natalia had actually been taken over by Alex.
2012 - 2013: C-Virus Outbreak (Events Of Resident Evil 6)
Several years before the events of Resident Evil 6, a woman named Carla Radames developed the Chrysalid Virus (C-Virus) for Derek Simmons, who workedꦿ for an organization known as The Family and previously served as an aide to the U.S. President.
The C-Virus is a bit like the G-Virus, but more stable. Its victims mutate quiteܫ a lot and in diff👍erent ways.
They eve☂n can regenerate by mutating their bodies. But, instead of becoming rampaging m🎉onsters, they keep some of their intelligence. As such, they can follow orders and use weapons.
Carla initially strongly admired the man until he tricked her into undergoing an experiment that would transform her into an Ada Wong look-a-like. He ꦗdid t♊his because he had an infatuation with Wong.
Angered about what had happened, Carla decided she wanted to destroy the world. So, she split from The Family and created her own organization called Neo Umbrella. From there, she started an outbreak in Edonia in 2012.
Events Of Resident Evil 6
This is where Resident Evil 6's story truly begins, as a grown-up Sherry Birkin, working for the Division of Security Operations, went to Edonia to meet Albert Wesker's son Jake Muller. Because of his father, Jake had special blood that could potentially be used to create a cure for the C-Virus.
However, shortly after meeting, they were attacked by a large monster known as Ustanak. This led to Neo Umbrella capturing the duo and transporting them to China.
Around that same time, Chris Redfield was also in Edonia, leading a tea💝m trying to contain the outbreak. Along the way,♊ they found Carla - though they thought she was Ada Wong.
They tried to bring her in, but she sprang a trap and killed most of Chris' allies. The hero was severely impacted by what happened and decided to drown his sorrows for a while.
Things got more problematic in June of the following year, as Derek Simmons secretly infected the U.S. President to stop him from revealing that the government had a hand in the Raccoon City incident. This also led to an outbreak in the city of Tall Oaks.
Like Raccoon City, the place was wiped out to contain the virus and also get rid of any incriminating evidence against Derek Simmons. Leon, who was in Tall Oaks at the time, managed to escape the place before perishing and made it his mission to stop Simmons.
Around this time in the Resident Evil timeline, Piers Nivans was able to pull Chris out of his stupor to help with the global bioterrorist 💜attacks that were in progress.
By the end of June 2013, China was suffering the biggest C-Virus outbreak, and that is exactly where all the main characters ended up, following various leads.
Leon and his partner Helena managed to track down and stop Simmons. Yet, it wasn't easy as Carla infected the villain, turning him into a giant B.O.W. After a long battle, the protagonists managed to finish him off.
Elsewhere, Jake and Sherry were still being relentlessly pursued by the Ustanak brute. Therefore, they had to work together to finally bring a permanent end 🌳to the monster.
Chris and Piers had another obstacle in the form of Haos, which was a giant B.O.W. that was capable of spreading the C🧸-Virus around the world 💧and causing the destruction that Carla desired. It was up to the duo to stop that.
Yet, the beast was initially too strong until Piers injected himself with the C-Virus and used his newfound power to end the monster, sacrificing himself in the process.
As for Carla, she didn't get away scot-free, as she became a target for the real Ada Wong. After all, her reputation was severely impacted due to Carla's antics.
Ada ended up tracking down her clone, who used an enhanced C-Virus to transform into a disgusting grey creature. This didn't phase Wong, though. She still killed the villain and destroyed all her research.
After all the villains were gone, a vaccine was created using Jake's blood to end the various C-Virus outbreaks.
2014 - 2017: Mold Outbreak Around The Baker House (Events Of Resident Evil 7)
Years before this point in the timeline, a crime syndicate called The Connections made a deal with Mother Miranda. She gave them Mold and DNA of her daughter to help with the young girl's revival. They used this to create bioweapons in the form of children with mind control capabilities.
Their best result was Eveline, who became a target for organizations committed to stopping bio-terrorist threats, such as the BSAA and the newly formed Blue Umbrella.
So, in 2014, her makers hid her and tried to transport her somewhere safer using a cargo ship. Yet, during the journey, there was an outbreak of Mold. She infected the entire crew, who all ended up dying except for Mia Winters.
After the ship crashed in the bayou, a man named Jack Baker found Mia and Evaline and brought them into his home. This was a mistake, as the latter would infect his entire family. His daughter Zoe managed to avoid being controlled.
Lucas wasn't infected for too long, as The Connections found and injected him with a serum to stop the mind control. Afterward, they had the guy spy on his family, so they could see how things were progressing.
The infected Baker family then spent the next several years abducting people to add them to their Mold clan. Those who showed resistance were killed. During this time, Eveline beca෴me more unstable and began to age rapidly.
Events Of Resident Evil 7
In 2017, Mia sent an email to her husband, Ethan Winters, convincing him to come to the Baker house. Once he got there, the horrors began for poor Ethan. He had to contend with a litany of Mold monsters, most notably the various members of the Baker family. At first, he even had to fight Mia, who was continually dropping in and out of Eveline's control.
In one of his early tussles with Jack, Ethan was killed. He didn't realize, though, because the Mold infected and resurrected him. In fact, he wouldn't find out that he's not really human anymore until years later.
While roaming the house, looking for a way to save himself and possibly Mia, Zoe contacted him. She helped him traverse the estate by giving him important intel and advice.
The two would eventually figure out a way to create a serum for the Mold infection. Ethan had two shots of the stuff but was forced to use one on Jack Baker to stop his rampage. In canon, he then used the other on Mia instead of Zoe. He promised to get help for the w🌳oman later, though.
Eveline wasn't done with the two characters, though. And after Mia rejected her, she wanted to kill both her and Ethan. However, the protagonist managed to inject her with a toxin and turn her into a giant beast that he ended up killing with the help of Chris Redfield - now working with Blue Umbrella.
Ethan then got evacuated from the area alongside Mia, who Blue Umbrella had already rescued.
Events Of Not A Hero DLC
Chris' mission didn't end with the rescue of Ethan and Mia. He was also ordered to arrest Lucas due to the guy's ties with The Connections. Therefore, the protagonist headed into the mines to find his target.
He had to deal with plenty of traps and tricks from Lucas. But, in the end, Chris managed to stop him, even thꦏough his initial objective of arresting the guy𒊎 was no longer possible.
Events Of End Of Zoe DLC
One member of the Baker family that remained uninfected was Joe Baker, who was living nearby and had no idea what had happened. When he discovered the situation, he fought through the remaining Mold monsters to find his niece Zoe.
He became determined to save her. And he got the chance because Umbrella had created a treatment for the infection. Yet, getting the full dose and administering it became tricky because his brother Jack Baker tried to stop him. Despite the efforts of Ethan, Jack was still messed up and cau꧋sin๊g problems.
In the end, Joe managed to put him out of his misery and save Zoe.
2021 - 2037: Mother Miranda's Kidnapping Of Rose Winters (Events Of Resident Evil Village)
Despite running tests for years, Mother Miranda still hadn't found a perfect vessel for her daughter by 2021. Her experiments had led to a litany of wild creatures called Lycans. On top of that, she had a few more capable mutants in Alcina Dimitrescu, Donna Beneviento, Salvatore Moreau, and Karl Heisenberg.
They had special abilities and were certainly superhuman, but they weren't great vessels for Miranda's daughter. So, Miranda made them her lieutenants instead.
Finally, she did find a suitable candidate when she learned about Rosemary Winters. Rose was the child of Ethan and Mia.
As Ethan came from Mold, and Mia also had a connection to the stuff, Miranda realized that the infant could make a great vessel. And due to an alleged BSAA le♏ak, she found out whereℱ the Winters family lived.
Therefore, Miranda kidnapped Mia and placed her in a village she ruled over. Then Miranda took Mia's DNA so she could disguise herself as the woman. This trick allowed her to infiltrate the Winters' home and get to Rose.
Events Of Resident Evil Village
The disguise fooled Ethan, but Chris Redfield and the rest of his elite BSAA task force, Hound Wolf Squad, were aware of what was happening. So, they gunned down the fake Mia and tried to take Rose to safety. But as guns weren't enough to kill Miranda, she was able to get back up and kidnap Rose anyway.
After this all went down, Ethan made it his mission to get his daughter back. So, he relentlessly tracked down Rose through Miranda's village and other locations in the area.
Along the way, he had to kill a bunch of Lycans and the four lieutenants as he retrieved parts of Rose. Once they were gone, Miranda appeared and ripped out the protagonist's heart to get Rose back.
Believing Ethan to be dead, Chris led Hound Wolf Squad into the village to fight Miranda's Mold army. Yet, they also had to stop the other BSAA forces, who were actually B.O.Ws themselves. Acts like making mutant soldiers w🌺ere among the reasons Chris had no faith in the company anymore.
After getting through the initial battles, Chris planted a bomb with the intention of blowing the village up. Then he found and saved the real Mia, who was still locked up.
Around this time, Ethan came back to life due to the Mold regeneration capabilities. And this was when Ethan discovered he'd already been killed by Jack Baker years earlier. The revelation that he wasn't actually human didn't stop Ethan from saving Rose.
The hero did this by defeating a weakened Miranda. Then he gave Rose - who was a full baby again - over to Chris to take to safety, while Ethan sacrificed himself by blowing up the village.
Events Of Shadows Of Rose DLC And Resident Evil Village Epilogue
A full 16 years after the Village incident, Rose was a teenager struggling with the unique powers she gained from birth. It made her an outcast among her peers.
To set herself free, she entered the consciousness of the Megamycete, which is the core of the Mold fungus.
While inside, she looked for a way to get rid of her powers. She found one, but she also found what remained of Miranda, who was still a threat. Therefore, Rose needed her abilities to defeat the old foe. Once she did, she had a change of heart about getting rid of her powers and left the Megamycete.
Afterward, she went to visit the grave of her father.
