10 Stun Lady Dimitrescu

Lady dimitrescu

Following in the footsteps of Jack Baker, Mr. X, and Nemesis, Lady Dimitrescu is Resident Evil Village’s pursuit character. After collecting Dimitrescu’s Key in the Castle, the lady herself will start chasing after Ethan. She’s on the slow side and never runs, but her claws do a considerable amount of damage and her wide frame will block your path in tight space. While this won’t help you in hallways, it’s possible to stun Lady Dimitescu by🧸 shooting at her head. She’ll stop to adjust your hat, giving you just enough time to lose her.

9 Quick Turn

The fan boss emerges from the darkness in Resident Evil Village

Quick Turn is a skill that’s been a part of Resident Evil since🐼 the third installment on the PlayStation, but it’s also one newcomers tend to neglect on first playthroughs. By holding back on the analog stick and pressing Circle, Ethan will immediately turn around. Quick Turning is especially useful when it comes to dodging damage or simple repositioning. Quick Turning is always faster than 🃏strafing in a circle and something any RE vet will swear by.

8 Blow Up Samcas With Mines

RE Village Samca Flying Creature

Samcas are the flying, hooded infected who start popping up after getting to Castle Dimitrescu’s rooftop. Samcas are introduced at the same time as the Sniper Rifle – one of the strongest weapons in the game – so most players will be inclined to kill them from afar. Not only is it possible to🍃 actually kill a Samca with a Mine, there’s a Challenge for it in the Bonus Shop.

This is easiest done at the top of Castle Dimitrescu. First, place a Mine down in between you and a Samca. Pull out your weakest gun and aggro the Samca. As they fly towards you, pepper them enough times so they stagger and fall on top of the Mine. The Samca’s body will🔜 trigger an explosion, usually killing them on the spot.

7 Guard-Push Combo

Resident Evil 8 Push

Building off the newly introduced Guarding mechanic from ꦯResident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village adds Pushing into the mix. Pushing is a valuable skill players can use to create immediate openings in combat. E🌳than can Push enemies by pressing L1 right after blocking an attack with Guard. If timed correctly, Ethan will knock enemies away, causing them to briefly stagger. Not every attack can be Guard-Pushed, but it’s a valuable Combo to learn.

6 Knock Out Weapons

Lycan
Lycan

Unlike Molded, the Lycan in Resident Evil Village often carry weapons with them. Usually they’re just farm tools, but there are Lycan who wield swords and are even armored. It’s important to aim carefully since Ethan can actually knock the weapon out of an enemy’s hand. Lycan are frantic enough where this is easier said than done, but managing to ❀shoot a Lycan’s weapon gives you the perfect ꩲopportunity to follow up with some free hits.

5 Safely Upgrade & Sell Weapons

The Duke from Resident Evil Village

Even though the weapon upgrade system is back, Village’s interpretation isn’t as elegant as Resident Evil 4. In RE4, every weapon had its own special skill that ensured even early game guns were viable on higher difficulties. This isn’t the case with Resident Evil 8, where new guns are almost always stronger than e𒊎arly-game weapons. That said, smart players can use this to their advantage. Since guns rise in value as they’re upgraded, you can use the profits from your old weapons to upgrade to the next model.

4 Revisit Castle Dimitrescu

Castle Dimitrꦡescu is the standout area in Resident Evil Village, but it’s only explorable for a very short portion of the story. While you won’t be getting back into the main keep, Castle Dimitrescu’s depths can actually be revisited once you unlock the Crank. Take the Crank to the Drawbridge near the altar and ride the boat back to the Castle outskirts where there will be an explorable crypt with plenty of goodies.

3 Blast Through House Beneviento

house beneviento

House Beneviento has quickly earned a reputation as one of the scariest areas in Resident Evil Village, but𝐆 it’s actually a fairly simple area to get through once the initial shock wears off. House Beneviento is a very small area and only has a few items Ethan needs to pick up. Players can beeline straight to the basement to start the Mia puzzle in no time at all.

While the baby chase is still tense, you only need to hide from the baby twice and the chase itself is slightly scripted. The boss battle against Angie isn’t too challenging either. She’ll always be found in her b🅠edroom on the second floor the first time around, and then exclusively stick to the first floor for the next two rounds.

2 Farm Challenges

Werewolf Stronhold Entrace With Flying Creatures

Beating Resident Evil 8 once unlocks the Bonus Shop and Challenges. Challenges are in-game tasks that award CP which can be used to buy weapons, Infinite Ammo, and other goodies in the Bonus Shop. Most Challenges are specific to certain set pieces, but several are dedicated to defeating enemies with different guns. By saving right 𓆏before Heisenberg’s Stronghold, you can keep clearing out the dozens upon dozens of Lycan before reloading. This makes it very easy to farm CP fast.

1 Kill Urias Early

Resident Evil Village Urias
Resident Evil Village Urias

Urias is a hammer wielding giant Lycan who’s fought at the very end of the Stronghold by Ethan and again by Chris near﷽ the end of the game. Urias is one of Resident Evil Village’s hardest bosses and he actually appears during the swarm at the start of the story. Not just that, Urias can actually be defeated here.

Keep in mind that you’ll likely need to do thi൩s on New Game Plus and have prepared beforehand. Infinite Ammo from the Bonus Shop goes a long way and you’ll want to exclusively fight back with your strongest guns: the Grenade Launcher, Sniper Rifle, and Magnum. Killing🍸 Urias early will be tough with so many Lycan around, but it’s possible.
