168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Survival Horror took on its own meaning when Resident Evil hit the PlayStation way back in 1996. Hilariously dated by today's standards, it nevertheless introduced gamers to the world of horror antagonists in 3D gaming, and went on to spawn a pop culture phenomenon.
There have been many terrifying antagonists in the Resident Evil series throughout the last 24 years, and here are 10 of the most terrifying based on their design and aesthetic. Stop it! Don't open that door!
10 Wesker (Resident Evil 5) 🐻 ♛
Wesker was the original Resident Evil bad guy, and he's hung on throughout the years as a very hard fly to swat. This former S.T.A.R.S. operative secretly worked for the Umbrella corporation, and orchestrated the creation of the T-Virus which kicked the nightmare off.
His appearance in Resident Evil 5 is the ultimate incarnation of his superpowered self which was only glimpsed in previous games such as Code Veronica. Here, he's every bit as deadly as his Tyrant counterpart.
9 🐷 Alexander Ashford /🙈 Nosferatu (Resident Evil: Code Veronica)
At first glance, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nosferatu isn't quite that scary, until it gets loose. This mutated form of Alexander Ashford was kept in isolation and captivity for 15 years before it busted out during the events of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
Its arms are bound behind its back, with a blindfold over its eyes, but with a level of massive superhuman strength and several swinging arms that protrude from its body, it's more than dangerous. It can also produce a deadly poison from its body.
8 Bitores Mendez (Resident Evil 4) ꦚ
He doesn't just look like the ex-vocalist of a Norwegian Black Metal band. Bitores Mendez is a fearsome character, whether in human or Las Plagas form. His artificial eye and superhuman resistance to damage are scary enough.
ꦆHis mutated form resembles something out of a nightmare, with a disjointed torso akin to a centipede, and several stabbing appendages which amplify his already tall, intimidating stature.
7 Jack Norman (Resident Evil Reve❀lations)
Jack Norman founded the Il Veltro organization in order to unleash bio weapons upon the world as a punishment for humanity's sins. He utilized the T-Abyss Virus to affect his goals before he was confronted by Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield.
After taking a๊ huge dose of the virus in despair at the loss of his 🎶friends, Norman mutated into Ultimate Abyss, a nightmarish creature reminiscent of Tyrant and Draghignazzo.
6 Alex Wesker (Resident ♓Evil Revelations 2)
Alex was part of Project Wesker, a eugenics program designed to create a new breed of superhuman to usher in a societal utopia. She was close with Albert Wesker, perhaps the most infamous antagonist of the Resident Evil series.
Her appearance in Revelations 2 is a horrific one. After inje🔯cting herself with the Uroboros virus, she mutated into a frightening and aggressive form before finally being put down for good by BSAA agents.
5 𝓰 Osmund Saddler (Resident Evil 4) 🌊
The character of Osmund Saddler is unsettling enough in human form, with piercing pale eyes that hint at his biological connection to Las Plagas. Players were exposed to his non-human form beginning with a gigantic eyeball poking out of Saddler's mouth. It got worse from there.
Saddler's Las Plagas mutation was born from his very neck, with multiple tendril-like legs and a clawed appendage housing his twisted human visage. It's one of the most over-the-top terrifying antagonists in Resident Evil history.
4 Nemesis (Resident Evil 3) 𒅌
Resident Evil 3 introduced players to Nemesis, and their hearts were less healthy for it. This nightmarish brute has only one goal– to eliminate S.T.A.R.S. operatives under the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:command of Umbrella.
Nemesis is barely hum𒁃an, with a mangled face stitched together to combat the effects of T-Virus mutation and parasitic implantation. Its effectiveness as a bioweapon is obvious due to its tenacity and aggression. Players never felt safe knowing this guy could be lurking just around the corner.
3 🐠 HAOS (Resident Evil 6)
Easily one of Resident Evil's most grotesque creatures, HAOS was a bioweapon derived from the C🍎-Virus under a Neo Umbrella directive. Its purpose was to spread the virus across the globe– a plan enacted by Carla Radames, the founder of the C-Virus.
HAOS was a living horror&ndash꧋; a half-formed monstrosity resembling a twisted skull with fully forme♈d eyes, long arms and bone-crushing strength. Horrifying, to say the least.
2 Tyrant (Various Resident Evil Games) ⛦
Tyrant has been shown in many different shapes and sizes. Its second incarnation was the final boss in the original Resident Evil, but the horror didn't stop there. This T-Virus bioweapon made several comebacks throughout the series as a nod to the original.
Its most frightening form was undoubtedly its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Resident Evil 2 appearance as an intelligent humanoid we𝔍aring a black trench coat. It was the host body for parasitic implantation which eventuaඣlly gave rise to the Nemesis Project.
1 Marguerite Baker (Resident Evil 7) 𒆙
Resident Evil 7's Baker family was a twisted homage to the Hewitt family from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 🦂series, only far worse. The scariest of the bunch🐲 is undoubtedly Eveline, a little girl who is way more than she seems.
Eveline is a walking bio weapon capable of a great many terrifying feats, turning her into a walking horror show. Facing this foe was almost as nerve wracking as hiding from the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation. Almost!
