While gamers in the Reddit thread were disappointed, there was at least some acknowledgment that they have mostly been building up the hype themselves, and Respawn can't be responsible for their disappointment. All in all, it was a good move for the Apex Legends develo🧸per to get involved in the cಌonversation, lest their silence be seen as confirmation one way or the other.

So for now, we're still left with no official word on any upcoming characters for Apex Legends. The names Wattson and Octane have come up a lot, and there was a huge amount of excitement for the new leaks from Monday. Still, there is no way to tell what is just left in the game files from cut content, what's been expertly faked, and what is still in development. We'll just have to wait and see, and 𓂃hope Respawn fills us in soon.
