Companion pets have been in World of Warcraft since the beginning. During the Mists of Pandaria expansion, the concept of battle pets was introduced. Players were now able to explore the world and catch hundreds of critters that were previously untouchable. Battle pets are a lot like Pokémon. You can pit them against each other in little tournaments and capture more to add to ♔your collection.
Now at the end of Battle for Azeroth, there are thousands of battle pets to collect. Some of them are great for fighting while others are simply adorable. This list compiles 10 of the cutest battle pets available in the retail World of Warcraft, sorted by their warcraft pets ranking. Rꦇeskins of other pets on the list have been removed so each entry has a unique model.
10 ܫ Zao, Calfling of Niuzao
Little Zao is one of the four pets players can choose from after winning the in the Timeless Isle. The tournament is a solo PVE scenario that pits all of your pets against three tr൲ainers and the four celestials. It's still a challenge to this day, as the level cap of battle pets remains 25.
In terms of his appearance, we think Zao looks a bit like Appa from Avatar the Last Airbender. Although he c🔯an't fly, he looks cute as can be running alongside your character. Even though the pet has be🗹en available for years, only 2.2% of the warcraft pets community owns him.
9 ꦺ ♏ Lil' Tarecgosa
Modeled after the beautiful blue dragon watching over Coldarra, Tarecgosa's mini𝐆ature sister can be easily collected. This pet was originally released in the Cataclysm 🌠as a reward for the guild achievement Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest.
Lil' Tarecgosa is owned by only 3% of the community. Why is she so exclusive despite being easily purchased for 1500 gold? Wel🐷l, there are three requirements for being allowed to purchase this pet. First, you must be exalted with your guild. Then you must have the money to purchase it. Most importantly, to even unlock the pet, soꦦmeone in your guild needed to complete the legendary staff of Dragonwrath.
8 Murkidan
Since their very first Blizzard convention, the company has set a precedent of giving attendees a Murloc pet. One of the most beloved was the Blizzcon 2015 reward of Murkidan. This adorable an🦹d ferocious demon hunter has some unique animations. He 🎐shifts between light and dark versions and even grows demon wings!
Only 1.3% of people own this pet because it required a✅ ticket purchase. Of course, even if you didn't attend, you are still able to buy a code from . That is if you're willing to spend $500! Most of us can only dream of this cutie walking beside us.
7 💦ꦏ Sun Darter Hatchling
Although there are two other Faerie Dragon models in-game (the Sprite Darter Hatchling and the Nether Faerie Dragon), the Sun Darter Hatchling is the most be🐠loved. Its unique coloration makes it stand out amongst its more common siblings. However, it's more infamous for the obstacles required 🐬to overcome just to obtain it.
Modern World of Warcraft has many secrets that dedicated players work diligently to uncover. For those interested in learning how to get this dragon, there is an in-depth guide on . 2.1% of the co🍷mmunity has conquered the Cavern of Consumptio𓃲n. Will you add to their numbers?
6 Shadow
Shadow released on the Blizzard Store in 2🌊017 for $10. Although no longer a part of the promotion, for the first 3 months of its release 100% of proceeds went to charity (the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Disaster Relief Fund specifically).
He has both light and dark appearances, which is unique. However, the best part about him is that when you sit while targetting Shadow, he will jump into your lap a⛎nd sleep just like a cat. That's probably one of the cutest animations ever.
5 Stardust
All of the celestial pets are cute. However, this little bunny with the constellations in her body takes the cake. There are a lot of rabbit models, but none so be🌱autiful as Stardust. She's a reward from the quest , which can be obtained after completing the meta-achievement Raiding with Leashes IV.
We especially adore her unique animation. Stardust will occasionally turn into a star, swirling above the player, then falling back down to Azeroth. Considering that she only req♐uires a pet battle and a small collection, there's no reason only 2.4% of 🌟players own this beauty.
4 Mischief
Mischief, like Shadow, is an✅other charity pet from the Blizzard Store. During December 2016, 100% of the proceeds made from sales were donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The company raised more than $2.5 million for chaꦿrity. At $10 each, there must have been 250,000 Mischiefs sold.
This little Fel kitten acts like a typical cat, yawning and lying down periodically. Like Shadow, she also will sleep in your lap when targetted with /sit. However, for a little extra bit of fun, try /dancing with her. She's probably a bette൩r dancer than most of us!
3 𒅌 Uꦇnborn Val'kyr
The Unborn Val'kyr⛄ was one of the first unique battle pets released, as she has been in the game since Mists of Pandaria in 2013. She's also the only pet on the list that can be caught in the wild. This pet spawns in any zone in Northrend, with 27 possible spawn locations. Normally, only one will exist in the world at a time.
At the time of her release, the Unborn Val'kyr was the only battle pet with an idle interaction. When she comes near to a dead critter, she will resurrec𓆉t it! She's an angel of life who can bring some serious pain in pet battles. Best of all? She's gorgeous.
2 Baa'l
Released in 2018 during Battle for Azeroth, Baa'l was the final reward for a long chain of finding a bunch of tiny pebbles in very difficult to reach places. When finally encountered in Frostfire Ridge, Baa'l is a formidable legendary opponent unless you have Uuna summoned🍬.
When bringing Baa'l out for the first time, it says "Souls fEast on en🌠Dless shrieKing, in darKNess they writhe and scream, yOu WiLl join thEm, toGether forEver morE!" Even though it's a demon that wants you t✤o suffer for eternity, Baa'l is just too cute to be afraid of.
1 Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen 🍸
Last, but certainly not least, is everyone's favorite tiger, Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen. Like Zao, Xu-Fu is obtained as one of the rewards for winning t🐓he Celestial Tournament. He was a Mists of Pandaria favorite an🅠d remains at the top of warcraftpets' rankings by appearance.
It's not hard to see why. He's adorable. Plus, his glowing blue ethereal body makes him stand out no matter the zone. Although his model is no longer unique, since Monks can obtain Ban-Fu,▨ Xu-Fu will always be the original.
