What do you get when you combine old-school shooter action with a rhythm game? We don’t know, but BPM: Bullets Per Minute will help us find out.
There are some combinations that work, and some that don’t. Open world anything is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:usually a great idea. Combining first-person shooters with RTS elements 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sometimes does not. But what if someone combined a rhythm game with a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Doom-style FPS?
Well, you’d get BPM: Bullets Per Minute, a new game that will arrive on Steam later in September. It combines a pulꦓse-pounding soundtrack, shooter action, and rhythmic elemen💃ts to produce… something. Honestly, we’re not all that clear on how it works, but it sounds intriguing.
The idea behind BPM is that everything is a "slave to the rhythm," as Awe Interactive founder David Jones puts it. Enemy attacks, your guns' fire rate, and reload animations are all done in-tune with the beat. The specific mechanics on how this is accomplished have yet to be revealed, but we'll assume for now that you'll want to use high fire rate weapons when the music is fast (like chainguns and machine guns) b෴ut swap to slow fire rate weapons when the music is slow (like shotguns and grenade launchers).
With music playing such a huge role in the game, BPM ensures that the game's tone remains action-oriented with an "epic rock opera" soundtrack inspired by the likes of Wagner, Muse, and Audioslave. That first one makes a little more sense when you find out that you play as a gun-toting Valkyrie in BPM and that Riꦐchard Wagner wroteꦚ Flight of the Valkyries.
Last but not least, BPM also combines roguelike elements to its rock opera shooter formula. Randomly generated dungeons have randomly generated enemies that you'll very much NOT randomly kill in tune with the beat. Dungeons are bookended with bosses that will attack rhythmically as ꦰdetermined by their particular songs.
There are five playable characters each with unique abilities that can include🌊 things like teleportation or freeﷺze rays. There's also 40 items to collect and equip along with an arsenal of weapons that include pistols, shotguns, and belt-fed miniguns.
BPM arrive𓄧s on on September 15, with a PS4 and Xbox One release set to follow later.
