Last year, Squanch Games released the acclaimed Trover Saves the Universe on Xbox One, Switch, PS4, PSVR, and PC. On June 18th, Trover will see a release on the Oculus Quest at a file size of . Played from a third-person perspective, and considering Squanch's roots in VR, it’s arguable that Oculus provides the best way to experience Trover.

Squanch Games (formerly known as Squanchtendo) was founded in August 2016. Justin Roiland, the creator of Squanch and co-creator of Rick and Morty, began creating games for Squanch exclusively for VR. After three years, Trover acted as his first 💫fully realized gꦑame across VR and non-VR platforms, though it still heavily caters to Squanch’s beginnings.

According to Roiland, the game implemented a “” that happened halfway through development, allowing the game to be playable on non-VR consoles. As Trover treks to the Oculus, we may be able to catch glimpses of the game that work better with V💞R capabilit🐬ies.

Trover’s loose and improvised dialogue adds a depth of comedy that’s rare among other games that usually feature scripted dialogues. Fans of Rick and Morty will be delighted to find Roiland’s signature humor in this♏ “Bizarre Comedy 🥃Adventure.”

Roiland was recentꦐly for ShackNews about the game’s 1-year-ann🌸iversary and had this to say about his favorite moment in the game:

“My favorite in-game moment is on Flesh World, with the boss fight with Gale. We recorded a lot that day and I was just getting more and more drunk and you can kind of hear it throughout that level. It culminated in the boss fight with Gale and it may not be everybody’s cup of tea comedically, but it’s one of my favorite moments in the game and still makes me laugh. It’s just so sloppy and definitely not anything you would normally hear in a video game. I was basically talking to myself as Gale and then as Trover, bouncing back and forth. Just cracking myself up and not actually thinking any of that would end up in the game. Once we got that leve🌊l blocked in with the new recorded audio, it became my favorite moment and I knew it had to stay in despite how fucked it is.”

Roiland's acclaimed series Rick and Morty just ended its fourth season on May 31st, while Roiland's new series, Solar Opposites, debuted on Hulu this year. In terms of𓆉 what's nextಌ for Squanch, Roiland : "We can’t say much about that right now, but we are around and people are working. People are working hard on stuff that we can’t talk about."
