Just when you thought the new Guardians of the Galaxy game couldn't get any better, Rick Astley drops in and Rickrolls a bunch of YouTubers.

Guardians of the Galaxy launched on all major platforms this week and you'll be hard pushed to find many bad words being said about it. Unlike the Marvel game Square Enix had a major hand in last year, Guardians appears to be pleasing video game-playing comic book fans across the board. Developer Eidos Montreal isn't done with the surprises just yet though.

The studio dropped a new trailer🤡 for Guardians on Thursday, even though the game had been on the market for 48 hours by that point. The post-launch💝 trailer, which you can find below, shows YouTubers DrLupo, PaladinAmber, and DanTDM agonizing over an in-game decision while in a huddle.

For those who haven't had a chance to play Guardians yet, a huddle sees the team gather up for a pep talk, better readying them for the battle that awaits. That battle will be scored by an '80s classic, and in this particular situation that classic is Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. The song that plays whenever you get Rickrolled for all you youngsters.

Speaking of which, that is exactly the purpose of this Guardians trailer. The song starts to play and images of Astley appear on the YouTubers' screens. That's right, making a certain decision in Guardians will result in you getting Rickrolled in-game. As the streamers laugh it off, the trailer shows Astley sitting at a control desk, smug due to the fact he is finally the one in charge of the Rickroll.

“For years I’ve been biding my time, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to take back ownership of the Rickroll,” Astley said, speaking on his excitement that Never Gonna Give You Up has been included in the game. Astley's Rickroll easter egg isn't the only one you might stumble upon in the game.
