How To Build A Nutrient Paste Dispenser
Like most advanced technologies, the Nutrient Paste Dispenser isn't available from day one. You'll need to research the following:
- Electricity, which is quite a tall ask in many games.
- Nutrient Paste, which unlocks both the Nutrient Paste Dispenser and the Hopper.
Once unlocked, you'll need 125 Steel and three Components to build a Nutrient Paste Dispenser. Components can be created at Fabrication Benches, also requiring Steel.
How To Use Nutrient Paste Dispensers
There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to building ಌ🌼and placing your Nutrient Paste Dispenser:
- It requires electricity, so you'll need a power grid and access to the grid.
- It has quite a large blueprint and dispenses meals from one part of it, denoted by the circle when placing. This means it's quite a good idea to plan your dining areas so that the meals are dispensed near your seating. Alternatively, place it close to a storage area for food.
The Dispenser works by taking raw food material from an adjacent Hopper, which must also be placed to make it work - without a Hopper, the Dispenser is💞 useless.
Make sure the tube of the Hopper is f🃏acing the Nutrient Paste Dispenser. If your dispenser isn't working, it will likely be that your Hopper is facing the wrong way.
You will not need to schedule work orders from the Nutrient Paste Dispenser or the Hopper - instead, the Hopper acts as a storage point for raw food materials (such as fish). Pawns can then use the dispenser point to command it to turn the raw material into a mea🧸l.
For this reason, it can be handy to use multiple Ho♏ppers at a time to be able to store multiple stacks/typesﷺ of food for your colony's use.
