River City is an incredibly violent place. It's home to gangs, street fights, and kidnappings. It makes you wonder if the only river in the city is the river of blood from all the heads being smashed in with lead pipes, and spare tires. River City Girls doesn't look like it's going to stray too far from River City Ransom in terms of violence, though now it's time for the girls to start jump-k🎀icking thugs.

However, it will be bringing a little something different. River City Girls will be add♑ing an element where players can collect anime girls to help deliver some solid concussions.

Apparently, there will be upwards of 50 enemies in the game, and players will be able to somehow convince all of them to join your side. In an interview with , Wayforward's Adam Tierney compared the system to Pokémon, though, in place of animals that can manipulate a variety of elements, River City Girls will feature assisting fighters that come in the form of brightly-colored anime schoolgirls. As such, there appears to be quite a bit of innovation on the River City Girls developer's end.

However, it doesn't seem like any of the recruited ladies will replace the main characters of Kyoto and Misako. Rather, players will be able to call in the girls to unleash an attack on your foes. This is kind of like a summon from an RPG, or as Tierney puts it, like the "Striker" system in Marvel Vs. Capcom. It is speculated that each girl will have their own special attack, so you can mix and match until you find the right combo of beauty, ﷺbrawn, and bone-breaking brutality.
