11 Bite

Rust Wolves (Bite)

Bite damage com▨es from only three sources; Bears, Wolves, and Boar. It is a melee form of damage so players can negate it enti🍃rely by staying out of range. Because that is not always possible players can don armor to protect them.

Metal provides the best protection and Bone-based armor can also do the trick. Wood and Leather are good in a pinch and Cloth 🐷is better than nothing. Radiation Suit armor seems to have little effect so it’s not recommended.

10 Blunt

Rust Bone Club (Blunt)

8 Cold

7 Electric

Electrical forms of damage aren’t very common. With the current build the only form of Electrical damage comes when the pla🐼yer fails a Door Code Lock by entering in the wrong password. The simplest way to avoid this damage is to get the right password.

At this moment there is not piece of clothing or armor that provides any resistance whatsoever to Electric damage. The only option to avoid this damage is to be careful with Code Locks an𒈔d have plenty of health when🥂 attempting one.

6 Explosion

Expl🐼osion damage can come from a number of so😼urces. Things like F1 Grenades, Timed Explosives Charges, Satchel Charges, Beancan Grenades, Rockets, and Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo will cause this kind of damage.

The s𒅌tronger the armor the better in terms of resistance. Metal is best for protection🌼, Bone and Wood are okay, Leather does help, and Cloth has a minimal impact. Hazard Suits offer zero protection. But honestly even Metal armor only does so much.

5 Falling

Falli🧜ng damage is perhaps the mo🌜st annoying form of damage in the game. It only occurs when the player drops from a height of at least three stories. The simplest away to avoid it is to not fall off or jump from high locations.

For clumsy players or those attempting Radt﷽own puzzles wearing armor helps, but only minimally. Metal, Bone, Wood, Leather, and Cloth all seem to help. Hazard Suits s൲eem to offer no protection whatsoever.

4 Heat

Heat damage is commonly caused by accidentally stepping into a Camp Fire, being in hot biomes, or being attacked by a Flame Thrower. Avoiding thes🎐e things is best for resistinꩲg this form of damage.

There are mixed reports from players on whether armor has an effect. Some claim Radiation Suit armor provides some protection. Rumors🌱 are Leather has an effect, though this isn’t confirmed. Every🃏thing else seems to have no impact on mitigating damage.

3 Radiation

Rust Radtown (radiation)

Radiation damage will only come from Radtowns and other radiated sources. This makes it a very easy damage-type to avoid. If players insist on exploring these areas then Anti-rad pills are best, though they can only be found in Loot C🌃rates.

Hazard Suits will completely nullify this type of damage. Clothing seems to b🐭e the next best form of protection. Then all other armor types will mitigate radiation to a miniscule 💯degree. In short players will want pills or Hazard Suits to best survive this.

2 Slash

Slas🐼h damage comes from sharp long melee weapons. Things like Machetes, Longswords, being most common. Knives do not cause this type of damage. This damage type can also cause a Bleeding effect which does damage over time.

Metal provides the be🧸st protection against Slash damage. Wood and Bone also does wonders. Leather does alright and Cloth to a lesser degree. Hazard Suits seem to have littl🎃e if any impact. As long as the player isn’t unarmored they’ll be resistant to it.
