Sailor Moon is the anime sensation that follows Usagi Tsukino and her girl gang of secret super heroes as they protect Earth from intergalactic and interdimensional threats. The story has been in manga form since 1991, and was quickly adapted to anime in 1992. Being in the Shōjo demographic, Sailor Moon is predominantly a favorite among girls and women, but its appeal really t꧑ranscends gender.
The Sailor Moon anime series has seen a reboot or two and therefore has shifted art styles a bit, but #SailorMoonRedraw gives the fans a turn at creating their own versions. Artists have taken to Twitter in droves to showcase their versions of the Pretty Guardian of love and justice. Some fans are creating Usagi in their own art style, while others are reimagining her as other beloved animated characters like Plank from Ed, Edd, ’n’ Eddy and Hank Hill from King of the Hill.
While the most popular template for the remake at this point is a concerned Sailor Moon, there are a few artists taking a crack at Chibiusa’s dark form Blackꦅ Lady, Sailor Saturn, and Sailor Mars.
