Developer SNK is about to release its upcoming Samurai Shodown game on June 25 for both 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it seems there were talks to make it a PC exclusive only, quite possibly through an offer made by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Epic Games.
Samurai Shodown’s director Nobuyuki Kuroki about how the game is shaping up through its development and design, and the digital partnership that was proposed but did not end up solidifying into any formal agreement. It seems that an unnamed PC platform sought an exclusivity deal for their launcher under the condition that the pre-order receive hundreds of 💮thousands of copies. SNK rejected the deal because of their firm belief that the game will sell a million units quite easily without the need of any kind of exclusive deal.
Epic Games was not explicitly named as the ones proposing a deal, but ꦗthey 🌼are the number one organization at the moment aggressively seeking new properties to scoop up for exclusive offering on their launcher.
Recently, Epic Games has succeeded in acquiring some big names to offer that were previously on the Steam platform, such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Borderlands 3, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Division 2, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metro: Exodus, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rocket League, and more. It comes as no surprise that they would also seek SNK’s upcoming Samurai Shodown.
Since Epic Games began its aggressive strategy of courting developers, consumers have been divided in their opinions over the ൩behavior. Some consider it distasteful that these next games in a series would e൩ven consider leaving Steam in favor of a different platform and express that distaste by review bombing previous titles in the series back on Steam to capture the attention of the developers.
Others meanwhile relish the idea of Epic Games upsetting the balance of things, because it spawns competition that benefits consumers, and because in the battle for preferred location to acquire and play games, user of the Epic Games launcher have been getting great deals and free games fo🃏r months now. Further to that, Epic Games has now declared that they will continue to give away a free game to all their users from now until the end of 2019.
There is no doubt that Epic Games is looking to see which other developers could be swayed into sig꧋ning some form of exclusivity agree🉐ment, and there do not seem to be any signs of slowing down in the foreseeable future.
