"I don't think it's exactly what people are expecting," Jack Quaid said in Scream's latest featurette. There are glimmers of new footage, promises of twists and turns, and a clearer outline of the plot.
We find out more about Melissa Barrera's role in the film - she (Sam Carpenter) is the 'final girl' archetype that Sidney was throughout the first four movies. Simply put, she's the one 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ghostface is after. Given that Dewey has survi🌱ved several attacks and killing sprees, it only makes sense that she goes to him for help. He then ropes in Gale and Sidney to reunite the trio.
The thing is Syndey has moved on with her life. Dewey looks like he's still coming to terms with the past two decades, tucked away in Woodsboro without having really moved on, but we know Sid is married. In the first trailer, you can spot a wedding ring on her finger and, in this new featurette, we see her pushing a stroller. It looks like she's got a kid now.
The final girl is a bit more intriguing in this film. She has something that will no doubt lead to those twists we're being promised. Sam asks who the person on the phone is in typical Scream fashion to which Ghostface says, "Someone who knows your little secret."
The "secret" is already being debated - is she the daughter of one of the victims, hence the obsession with stalking and murdering the already dead killers' families? Or is it something completely out of left field that fans won't predict? We'll find out in January.
At any rate, by the time Dewey calls Sidney, there have been three attacks. There's the opening scene which we get a further look at and then two we have yet to place chronologically.
Whatever the case, writer Kevin Williamson is connecting the legacy cast with the new cast because he has a story to tell, saying thaওt this is the perfect time for a new film.
