But let's first talk about the mysterious Sunken Kingdom, a long-lost civilization that sank beneath the waves long ago. Now it's home to nasty Sirens and their Ocean Crawler army, but for pirates brave enough to conquer these monsters and smart enough to solve their traps, there's an entire culture's worth of treasure waiting to be plundered.
Coral Captain's Chests can offer big rewards if you can get them to any of the trading companies in Sea of Thieves, but getting from the bottom of the ocean to the top of it without catching the bends would be tricky at the best of times, let alone while carrying a treasure chest. To help you out, the merfolk have set up Merfolk Statues where you can store your ill-gotten plunder under the waves and then recoup it once you reach the surface. Just look for the mermaid holding a flare for your treasure chests to appear.
But how does an enterprising pirate find the Siren Shrines? They'll be marked on your map, and there'll be a telltale shimmer on the waves when you're floating above either a shrine or treasury. You can also keep an eye out for the new Coral Message in a Bottle to be sent directly to a Siren Shrine to recover the valuable Breath of the Sea potion. Nobody knows what it does, but the trading companies are paying out the nose to get their hands on them.
There's also a bunch of new cosmetics, including the Sunken Sorrow Ship Parts, scar, and weapons that'll have that characteristic coral-infused look. A new season pass with 100 levels of rewards is free to all players and includes the Siren's Wraith Ship Parts and Wicked Web clothing set. There are new Emissary rewards, 11 new Pirate Emporium Items, a new Jack-o-Looter Halloween-themed cosmetic set, and a free emote to get you started.
