In the original release of Secret of Mana for the Super Nintendo, the main character didn’t have a default name. In fact, this is what it says in the . 🦩“Young hero, yღou were marked by the gods at an early age when you were guided to the ancient Sword of Mana.”
Even his allies are each marked by just “Ally” in the manual. Well, since then, his cannon name was changed to Randi if any were curious. And yes, he does look an awful lot like Crono from Chrono Trigger, or is it the other way around since this came out first? Doesn’t matter, let’s look at some fan art of him instead along with some delightf🦋ul party collages.
10 Pixel Mana
This is a nice sort of demake to the original Secret of Mana as if it were made for the NES. It actually looks🦂 like a diorama for what could be a cool acrylic figure stand. That’s the new trend that is blowing up right next to pins. This piece of arℱtwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
9 A Proper Remake
As a counter to that last piece, this artwork is like an evolution of what a modern day Secret of Mana could look like. The polygonal models actually look a little like clay which calls back to the game’s manual. These renders are certainly better than what 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix put together for the PS4🍰 remake. 8 Jumping Out
Randi can be seen here seemingly jumping out of the white box art. Japan had better box than this for the game, but actually a lot of Square’s games at the time did have more some simple designs like this. A logo with a white box was standard for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy for many years as just one example. Anyway, the bes🌱t part of this piece is Randi’s flowing hair which would make even Goku jealous. 7 The Mantis Ant
This is a great depiction of the first boss fight with the Mantis Ant. T✅he artwork actually looks like Joe Madureira’s comic style.
To tie it back into video games, Madureira actually did the art designs for Darksiders. A mod❀ern Mana game in that style would be killer. This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to 🎃DeviantArt.
6 Dual Wielding
This pose makes Randi look like a true hero. Too bad players couldn’t dual wield a spear and sword in the actual SNES classic. At l🌊east weapons were very easy to swap around while in battle. It was as close to dual wielding as the game got. This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
5 Secret Of Mana: The Animation
This picture screams Cartoon Network. Many video games got the cartoon treatment in the 80s and 90s and most of them were bad. Some got, and continue to get, anime with the track record being better now. The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Castlevania an𒀰ime is a huge hit as an example. All that being said, it would be cool to see an American interpretation in this art style for a modern Secret of Mana cartoon. This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
4 A Story To Tell
This is like some trippy collage one would🍃 find in a head shop. All that’s missing is the black velvet canvas lit up by a black light. Joking aside, this is a nice collage that tells the story of Randi’s opening hours. Both the sword and him are noticeably beefier though.🉐 This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
3 Water Randi
This piece of art is something akin to a more realistic i꧙nterpretation of Randi. It is like a water color painting someone would do based on a real life person.
It may not be as fantastical as some of the other art on here, but th🃏e different take f🐟or the beloved hero is much appreciated. This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
2 The Gang’s All Here
As promised in the intro, these last two selections feature more than just Randi. This one in parꦰticular, of course, has his two co-stars along with all eight Mana Spirits. This wouldn’t be bad for a box art either. Actually, as a random thought, fan hacks of video games sometimes have fan created box art to make the project feel more official. This could work for something like that. This piece of artwork was created by and was uploaded to DeviantArt.
1 A Classic Box
And lastly, a more classy box art selection which redoes the original’s box art. Not only that, but the three heroes accompanied by flying birds in♍ a dense forest is also the title screen. It was so haunting and ominous that one couldn’t help but be pulled in. And that’s why this game, out of any in the series, is so beloved. It just has that classic vibe to it.
