Between writing, editing, and gaming, I spend 12-15 hours in my desk chair every day. My previous seat was a decent office chair from an office supply store. After six months of abuse, the thing had acquired a pretty grating squeak when I leaned back and I found I was adding pillows to the seat a🌸nd back to supplement the flattened padding and create some lumbar support. As a desk worker and gamer, having a comfortable chair is really important to reduce stress on my back and prev❀ent injury like carpal tunnel.
The TITAN gaming chair from Secretlab is not the kind of chair you'll find at your average office supply store. This is a handcrafted, leather-clad piece of equipment that has more feature🌼s than most luxury car seats. Switching to the Secretlab chair has nearly eliminated the soreness and pain I have in my back from extended sitting on my old chair by correcting my posture and supporting me with so many customizable features. It has also, though I'm hesitant to admit this as it has become such a meme, made me a better gamer by creating the most comfortable upright position for active engagement and mouse control. I believe the Secretlab TITAN offers the highest quality combination of form and funct🌸ion in any gaming chair.
Unbelievable Build Quality
While unboxing and building the TITAN (which is an experience in itself), you really get to appreciate the craftsmanship and quali🧸ty of each individual component of the chair. It isn't difficult to assemble, especially if you've put together any other office chair before, but it is by far the heaviest chair I've ever assembled. Everything from the reinforced aluminum wheelbase to the cooling-gel coated memory foam head pillow is both incredibly durable and designed for the best possible sitting experience.
Secretlab offers a few different models depending on your height and weight, along with a ton of design options for each model. You can choose from PU leather, a fabric they call SoftWeave, or premium NAPA leather. Then, you can choose from a variety of color options, including esports team brandings like LCS and Cloud9, or choose from a variety of cool logos like Overwatch, Dota 2, or even Batman.
I have the PU leather model in amber. The fabric and stitching are immaculate. There🅺's no chance the hydraulics, tilt mechanism, or casters are going to give out 🅷any time soon. This thing is built to last.
Performance And Comfort
My first impression of the TITAN wa🎃s that it's a lot more firm than the average office chair, and I naively worried it might be uncomfortable. What I quickly realized though, is that the firm seat and backrest keep your body in an ergonomic position that, for me, increased productivity and reduced fatigue immeasurably♕.
By way of adjustments, you𝔍 have the standard raise and lower lever as well as the seat lock lever that can stop the chair from tilting back. The armrests can be raised and lowered, slid forward and back, and shifted in and out independently so you can find the perfect position for your arms to engage with your mouse and keyboard.
What you wo🌟n't find on your average office chair is the full-length backrest recline that allows you to recline into nearly into a laying position. Also, unlike other gaming chairs that include pillows and pads🦩 for back support, the TITAN has a knob to adjust the built-in lumbar support to your preference.
Th🐷e benefits of fully reclining your chair are obvious. You can lean as far bac🌌k as you like to find a comfortable position or even to nap in, but for me, the TITAN secret sauce is the ability to tilt that seat forward to support good posture and adjust those arms rests to the perfect angle.
I use a footrest under my desk () because I'm told it's important for good circulation. With my feet up and the chair inclined to keep me sitting up straight, I'm not only in the best position for long term PC usage, but there's a psychological effect when I start gaming that makes me go full try-hard. That's not al🍷ways the mood I'm in, and I can tilt back and plug in my controller when I want to chill out, but sitting up straight and moving the armrest to give my elbow the perfect fulc🀅rum point has actually improved my game significantly AND reduced the strain on my back.
A Worthy Upgrade
Gaming chairs have become a bit of a meme for their premium price and designs that tend to be a little too extra, but for me, a quality chair is like a bed: you spend a significant amount of time in it, and using a bad one can cause serious long-term problems. The Secretlab TITAN is an impeccably designed chair that looks refined rather than obnoxious, is built to last, and provides a proper sit for long-term gaming. It comes at a price you would expect for that much quality, but for me, investing in a real chair is like investing in a hardware upgrade for your PC. If you spend a significant amount of time in front of your computeﷺr, you owe it to yourself to upgrade to a Secretlab chair.
