Sega is recreating and re-releasing the Game Gear to celebrate the 30thꦍ anniversary of its only ever foray into the world of handheld gaming.
There are a few things that spring to mind when people hear the name Sega. Sonic will almost always be the first thing people think of when they see the company's name. The Genesis, Sega's iconic and most successful console, might be the next thing that comes to mind. Speaking of consoles, Sega never could quite follow up on that 🅷Genesis hype.
Although the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dreamcast and the Saturn had and still have their loyal fans, neither was the big-time follow-up Sega wanted them to be. Neit𝓡her console managed to break the 10 million mark when it came to units sold. In fact, the only Sega console to break that boundary after the Genesis was the Game Gear.
The Game Gear was the only attempt by Sega to break into the lucrative world of handheld gaming. Although its sales were eclipsed by the Game Boy, which was released a year earlier, Sega has still decided to celebrate the Game Gear's 30th birthday, and we 🌺are very happy about that. It is doing so by releasing the Game Gear Micro, a tiny version of the console with four games built-in.
The Game Gear Micro c🌟omes in four different colors (black, red, yellow, aꦫnd blue) and each color comes with four different games.
- Black: Sonic the Hedgehog, Puyo Puyo 2, Out Run, Royal Stone
- Blue: Sonic Chaos, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvan Tale, Baku Baku Animal
- Yellow: Shining Force Gaiden: Ensei – Jashin no Kuni he, Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict, Nazopuyo Aruru no Ru
- Red: Revelations: The Demon Slayer, Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special, The GG Shinobi, Columns
At just 80mm x 43mm x 20mm, the Micro is less than 40% of the size of the original Game Gear. Its screen measures at a minuscule 1.15 inches, so much smaller than the already tiny Game Boy Micro's two-inch screen. Anyone who buys all four consoles will get the Sega Big Window magnifying glass thrown in, should th⭕ey pay 27,255 yen (around $250). Individually, the consoles cost 4,980 yen ($46). They're available to order now in Japan, but won't be released until October 6, 2020. 🍬There is currently no word on if they will be released outside of Japan.
