Sega is reviving a bunch of old IPs, announcing five new games at The Gꦦame Awards 2023. In a new trailer, Sega confirms it is working on new games for Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe.
This is the first time some of these franchises have been touched in years. A Jet Set Radio sequel in particular had been rumoured for some time, with fans hoping Sega would remember the series exists. Now, it's clear that it's getting some love alongside other older games, in some form at least.
It's not clear if these will be remakes, remasters, or new instalments entirely. In any case, we're definitely getting new releases, something that's exciting fans of Sega's 1990s offerings. Here's how the games are described in the trailer's description: "New Era, New Energy! New games from Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi - now in development!"
We'll likely have to wait around for more information on what this will entail. There's no word on a release date just yet. But the reveal trailer does show some pretty extensive and polished gameplay, so work seems to be well underway on these projects. Whether Sega will drop them all at once in some kind of collection, or individually whenever they're ready, isn't clear either.
This was just one of the many new game announcements at The Game Awards. One of the biggest came towards the end of the show, with Monster Hunter Wild🀅s unveil🅰ed and getting a launch window of 2025. It was also revealed that we're getting a new game from the No Many's Sky team called Light No Fire, an open-world multiplayer title.
Then, as the show wrapped up, it was quickly spotted that Game of the Year winner Baldur's Gate 3 had 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:gone live on Xbox with no warning. Developer Larian has since confirmed that yes, the CRPG is now officially available to play on ♉Xbox, and can be downlꦓoaded immediately.
