In a video shared to Seoul Dynasty's Twitter account, Gen.G COO Arnold Hur recently an initiative by the organization to raise money for coronavirus relief efforts. All profits raised by the Gen.G-owned 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Overwatch League team, as well as its Overwatch Contenders team, from February 18 through the end of March wil🌟l be donated to charities that support coronavirus patients.
This fundraising effort is centered on Seoul Dynasty's upcoming homestand, which will take place from March 6 to March 8. In addition to the Se🌌oul Dynasty, matches that weekend will feature the Hangzhou Spark, Los Angeles Gladiators, San Francisco Shock, Vancouver Titans, Chengdu Hunters, Dallas Fuel, and Guangzhou Charge. With eight teams in total present at its homestand, Seoul's will be the second-largest at that time (Houston's upcoming homestand will feature nine teams).
Cumulatively, funds raised for donations will come from homestand tickeඣt sales, Seoul Dynasty in-game skin purchases, and all Seoul Dynasty and Gen.G merch. While the Seoul Dynasty homestand will only encompass one weekend in March, 100% of profits raised by Gen.G and the Seoul Dynasty for the rest of February and through March will be put toward its fundra🌸ising efforts.
The current and third season of the Overwatch League is the first during which matches will take place solely at team-hosted homestands. Last season saw games played in Dallas and Atlanta, as well as at a satellite Los Angeles venue in preparation for the shift. Seoul's March homestand will mark the first time that Overwatch League matches will be held in Seoul (which, historically, has hosted of professional 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Overwatch competitions outside of OWL).
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, the league's first Chinese homestands were canceled, and some of the affected teams relocated their practice facilities to Korea. The League 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:recently announced that those Chinese homestands will now be relocat🐓ed to Seoul too.
In the video posted to Seoul Dyna🙈sty's Twitter account, Hur confirms that before planning any sort of coronavirus relief effort, the healt✅h and safety of all Gen.G staff members and their families were confirmed. While the coronavirus is primarily affecting China, there are cases of the virus spreading to other countries. Hur also explains that the decision to donate the team's proceeds to coronavirus relief efforts was made mutually by players and staff members within the organization.
