It was previously announced that the post-apocalyptic title would be heading to PC in the summer, much to the ire of some PS4 owners for some reason, but that clearly wasn't all. The 201😼7 release, which became one of the best-selling PS4 games in history after shipping over 10 million copies, will also be hitting paperback.
According to a report from , the comic book series will debut in comic stores and on digital devices on July 22. A prequel issue will also be released during the Free Comic Book Day event later this year, which is currently unscheduled. The event was initia💟lly penned in for May 2 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The upcoming series scripts the story of apprentice hunter Talanah Khane Padish. The character, who played an important role in the game's Hunter Lodge storyline, embarks on an 💖adventure that pits her against a new, formidable species of killer machines after Aloy, the game's main character goes missing.
The series is created by Horizon Zero Dawn writer Anne Toole and artist Ann Maulina. The first issue also has a number of covers from other artists and original art from the game. Below is the cover for theꦉ first issue from Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.
“Fans are going to absolutely love the stories we have to tell of Talanah and Aloy as we expand the Horizon Zero Dawn universe in this new comic series,” editor Tolly Mags says. “I’m really excited to see their reaction when this explosive n꧂ew story arrives.”
