This comes from English's interview with TheGamer at EGX, where she dove into her performance as the fan-favourite cleric. "I wish I had a game like this growing up"

In the interview, TheGamer's Meg Pelliccio asked English who she likes to see paired with Shadowheart, and she knew her answer right away.

"I've made no secret about it - Shadowlach or Shadow'zel," says English, referring to Shadowheart's pairings with Karlach and Lae'zel. "I mean, the choice is yours, guys."

Then, English is asked to play Kiss, Marry, Kill as Shadowheart, and the Githyankꦛi warrior comes out on top. Wel💞l, kind of.

"I mean, she'd kill Lae'zel, unfortunately," admits English. "But she'd also want to kiss Lae'zel, probably. Can I choose both? And then marry Karlach."

Still, for all of the Karlach love, English is deadset on exploring her relationship with Lae'zel. "I can't wait to play as Shadowheart and see what happens if I try to romance Lae'zel. I need to see more of that content uploaded, frankly. I haven't had enough of that, guys."

So, like many of us, English is a big fan of seeing Shadowheart♐ with the girlies. Elsewhere in the interview, English opens up about her own experience with her queer identity helped her play Shadowheart

"Her protecting her secrets resonated with me because growing up queer and having to keep that part of myself hidden... that really resonated with me," said English. "I drew upon a lot of mental health stuff, so I gave a lot of myself to that side of the story. It did exhaust me quite a lot. I'd go home and have a really good cry."

It's safe to say that this paid off. According to early player stats, Sh♑adowheart is th⛄e most popular romance choice by far. Even outside of this, she's an immensely popular character, as players help her navigate her relationship with her chosen deity, Shar. It's an emotional journey, but at least at the end of it, Shadowheart can end up smooching Lae'zel. Or Karlach. Or someone else entirely. Just please, give her a happy ending in your playthrough if you can, yeah?
