The announcement by NetherRealm Studios that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath arrives later in May is nothing but great news. It features three new fighters, stages, the return of the iconic Friendship finishers, and the continuation of the story following the defeat of Kronica. As always, and for be🅠tter or for worse, Shang Tsung has strolled in twirling his mustache like a cartoon villain despite being the least trustworthy individual in the history of the series.
When Have I Ever Let You Down?
Shang Tsung is a backstabber who lists the trait at the top of his resume, with a career-focused statement that reads, “Looking to join powerful being to dominate and subjugate Earth realm, betrayal guaranteed.” Despite this, Shang finds gainful employment in virtually every Mortal Kombat game in the series. His first big betrayal comes in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance after joining Quan Chi to murder Shao Khan. Not to be outdone, the two ♓betray each other after completing their goals.
Bad Guy With A Capital B
Apart from betraying his “allies,” Shang Tsung is the original Big Bad Guy of the Mortal Kombat series beginning with the first game in 1992. Since that time, he has schemed, stolen souls, resurrected Sindel to conquer Earthrealm, and literally murdered Liu Kang in Deadly Alliance. In virtually every major story in the series, Shang Tsung has been there to cause trouble and bring doom to humanity. Despite this, he appears to have talked his way into being the number one candidate for helping with the events of Aftermath.
Trust Me *Twirls Mustache*
The details of exactly what will happen as Aftermath plays out is still shrouded in mystery, but the trailer leaves no doubt that Raiden and Liu Kang decide that Shang Tsung is to be trusted in securing Kronica’s Crown from the past. There is little reason to believe that any of the other 🐻characters trust the sorcerer, with Fujin asking the question we are all thinking, “How long before you betray us?”
With that said, Shang Tsung has not really had a pivotal role in a Mortal Kombat game for quite some time. In 2011’s Mortal Kombat, Shang is ultimately killed in order to pr🏅♏ovide more power to Sindel, so seeing him back as the main schemer is right on brand.
It might seem odd to limit the character to his usual tricks, though the options are somewhat limited if we consider the Aftermath story t﷽o focus mainly on the DLC characters who are largely absent from the base game narrative. Oh well, we can all pretend to be surprised when Shang Tsung turns his back on everyone.
