168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance’s Surt is easily the most intimidating boss you’ve encountered so far. Not only is the boss the size of a skyscraper, but you’ve seen this blazing bloke burn through battalions of battle-hardened angels effortlessly. He also has a colossal sword that looks like a really aggressive lightsaber. Needless to say, he's a bit of a beast.

Shin Megam🌊i Tensei 5: Vengeance - How To Defeat Mitama

Mitama are rare demons with random wea𒆙knesses in SMTV that can be tricky to beat, but they drop great items for farming experience, money, and Glory🔯!

Being the mid-boss of Chiyoda, Surt is no pushover, but he is pretty easy to figure out. Being the fiery ruler of Muspelheim, Surt is all about the raging inferno. Like with all the bosses in Shin Megami Tensei 5, he will go down without much fuss with a little preparation.

Surt’s Potentials, Attacks, And Resistances

SMT5 Surt stat screen after using Spyglass

Potentials

As is to be expected from a Norse Fire Giant, Surt loves to smack you around with a mixture of Fire and Physical attacks. Both have dangerously high Potentials, being +6 and +4 respectively. This is made even worse by his monstrously high Strength (63) and Magic stats (58) — both of which put every other boss so far to shame. Getting slapped around by Surt is not going to be a fun time.

Attacks

Attack

Explanation

Heat Wave +4

Surt deals Weak Physical damage to all party members.

Fire Dracostrike +6

Surt deals Medium Strength-based Fire damage to one target.

Maragidyne +6

Surt deals Heavy Fire damage to all party members. Surt will ONLY use this 🍌attack after gathering Magatsuhi.

Ragnarok +6

Surt deals Medium Fire damage two to five times to random party members.

Dekunda

Surt removes all Status debuffs from himself.

Counter

Surt has a chance to counter Strength-based attacks with a Weak Physical attack.

Agilao +6

Surt deals Medium Fire damage to one target.

Maragi +6

Surt deals Medium Fire damage to all party members.

Omagatoki: Critical

All Surt’s attacks, including Magic-based ones, have a 100% chance of inflicting a Critical Hit.

Surt is not a boss you want to mess around with, and his attack list hammers that fact home. Even if you are not weak to Physical or Fire, Surt can very quickly take chunks out of your party. If you are weak to either, the﷽n you may as well throw in the towel.

All of Surt's attacks are dangerous to some degree, however, Fire Dracostrike and Ragnarok are easily the two that you need to worry about. Fire Dracostrikes Strength-based fire damage is ꦐnothing to scoff at when Surt 🤪has 64 Strength a +6 Potential to boost that even further.

Ragnarok is a bit more random but is more than capable of downing a support demon if you get unlucky. The damage is high enough that even tougher demons are going to feel the burn. Ideally, you want to pray that Surt doesn’t get too trigger-happy with this ability.

Resistances

Surt is easy to figure out. He Drains Fire damage, which means he will heal every time you try to smack him with an Agi, and he is weak to Ice. That’s it. Avoid Fire, hit with Ice. Easy.

SMT5 Surt facing off against Nahobino

Because of Surt’s binary Resistances, it’s pretty easy to plan for. That being said, not all Ice demons are going to be your friend. Naturally, many Ice demons are weak to Fire, which automatically rules them out for consideration. You never want to give Surt extra turns.

൲At this point in the game, however, there are more than enough powerful demons to carry you to victory.

ICE-BASED DEMONS

Black Frost

Black Frost is the powerhouse of Chiyoda. Not only was he very strong against the last boss, Shohei Yakumo, but he is also excellent against Surt. Unlike every other Frost-based Jack in the game, Black Frost is NOT weak to Fire and is very good at dishing out incredible amounts of Ice damage.

He comes equipped with Ice Dracostrike, which will be your go-to attack due to Black Frost's very high Strength stat. You will want to carry a few Chakra Drops to keep his mana topped up, or you could transfer Spirit Drain to keep him fully self-sufficient.

Black Frost is a Special Fusion demon, which makes him rather difficult to bring along. Alternatively, you can complete a side quest near the start of Chiyoda and obtain him for free. In either case, he is well worth the effort to obtain and is the MVP of this fight.

Succubus

Succubus is one of those rare demons who specializes in Ice magic but also has a Resistance to Fire. This alone makes her a valuable asset in this fight, but you will want to make sure she has gained a few levels — maybe apply some Ice Sutras.

Succubus is more for consistent damage than burst, but if you dedicate the resources to make her an Ice powerhouse then she can do a lot of work in this fight. In either case, she is an easy summon and an all-around great demon to have.

Qing Long

Qing Long is not resistant to Fire but is a very powerful Ice user who also has access to Ice Pleroma. Summoning him is also pretty straightforward. The only downside is his level requirement, which is 45. You can beat Surt at a lower level than this quite easily, so grinding to 45 might be overkill.

OTHER DEMONS

At this point in the game, Physical damage demons are starting to become incredibly powerful — even when not hitting weaknesses. This꧅ opens up a few alternate strategies for taking 𝓰on Surt.

Orthus

Orthus is fantastic in this fight because he is both very tanky, Nullifies Fire entirely, and has a very nice Strength stat. His base attacks are also very nice, with Fierce Roar acting as a Taunt and Axel Claw dealing a nice chunk of damage. Fang Breaker also does work even if Surt will eventual𝓀ly Dekunda it.

Yoshitsune

If Black Frost is the Icy-MVP, then Yoshitsune is the Physical equivalent. As standard, Yoshitsune has a Resistance to Physical damage - more or less nullifying Surt’s Counter ability - and access to the devastating Hassou Tobi Unique attack.

Hassou Tobi is a guaranteed critical attack that hits eight times. This takes chunks out of Surt every cast. It’s very expensive to use, however, so Chakra Drops or Spirit Drain will be required to keep the damage flowing.

It might also be wise to transfer Fire Resistance over to Yoshitsune too, which is ღnot exactly difficult to do with the right Essence, Fusion materials, or Miracl💙es.

SUPPORT DEMONS

Any demon who is a capable healer will do, providing they don’t have a weakness to Fire. This rules out the previously-powerful Parvati and Sarasvati - unless you can transfer Fire Resistance to them. Alternatively, you could also try to babysit them with Fire Block casts. A better option would be to take a different demon.

Idun

Idun is a very potent healer who is not weak to Fire and has a very powerful Unique spell — Golden Apples. This not only heals the whole party - but it also buffs them. Transferring Heal Pleroma and Bowl of Hygieia i𓄧s not a requirement but is a noticeable improvement to her output.

You may also consider transferring Media, or Mediarama to give he🦹r a cheaper AoE heal, as Golden Apples are ludicrously expensive to cast as a go-to group heal.

Idun is a Special Fusion demon, but the components requ🦄ired for the fusion are very easy to obtain, and not very expensive if you have to resort to Macca.

Kushinada-Hime

Kushinada-Hime is another powerful support demon, who is about on par with Idun when it comes to healing potential. She is also easier to set up as she comes with Mediarama as standard, as well as Heal Pleroma. She lacks Golden Apples, and her bas😼e stats are♏ lower than Idun, however.

Finally, Kushinada-Hime is a level 49 demon, which is pretty high for this point in the game — unless you’ve partaken in some serious grinding. If you can summon her, she is great. If not, then don’t grind for her. Idun is more than capable.

Here's a complete guide on what Demon Statues are and where to find them in SMT Vꦕ.

Preparing For Battle

SMT 5 Nahobino casting Kannabi Veil

Essence Fusion

It’s normally a safe bet to slap on some Physical Resistance and leave it at that, but Surt will murder Nahobino if you attempt it. What you want to do for this fight, is fuse with Eligor or Dionysus as this grants you immunity to Fire. This is especially impactful if you bring Orthus, as half your team will be functionally immune to Surt's damage.

As for attacks, you will want to use a mixture of Kannabi Veil to increase the durability of your squishier demons and Sakanagi to deal Almighty damage. You could also consider applying Counter or Retaliate to Nahobino to punish Surt for attacking you. Taunt can also work, especially if you aren’t running Orthus in your lineup.

Dampers

As always, Dampers are fantastic for this fight. Buying 3 Fire Dampers for the low💎-low price of 450 Macca functionally removes an entire turn from Surt every time he enters Magatsuhi. You could also cast Fire Block which is an easily obtained, and transferable ability.

Gems

Ice Shards and Ice Gems can do work in a pinch if all your Ice demons are killed during the fight. It’s fairly unlikely this will happen, but they are there if y𝕴ou need them.

Battle Strategy

SMT5 Surt Attacking party

Providing you prepared for the fight, Surt will go down pretty easily. He ma🅰y be big, he may have a sword the size of a house, 🧸and he may have a terrifying statline - but you have him sussed.

Nahobino should start by dropping Kannabi Veil each turn, before throwing out Sakanagi to deal a nice chunk of damage. If you are running Taunt, then remember to refresh 💝this ability when needed.

Outside this, hit Surt with Ice attacks and/or powerful Physical attacks and make sure to heal when needed. If Surt gathers Magatsuhi,ꦜ drop a Fire Damper and smack him around for free.

If you have a support demon in your lineup, then make sure to keep Bowl Of Hygieia prepped in case of emergencies, and don’t forget it can Overheal your party to grant bonuses to🐭 their Max HP.

Surt should go down easily and open the path to the final area of Chiyoda — and the path to the final boss of this area, Ishtar.
