The last holdout from the first Nintendo Switch event is still being worked on, even after almost three years of silence, as Atlus has confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei V is still in development.

Nintendo announced the Switch at the end of 2016, which was followed by a presentation in January 2017 that revealed details regarding the hardware. The first Nintendo Switch event included announcements for several games, including 1-2 Switch, Arms, and Super Mario Odyssey, but only one of the games revealed during that event has yet to be released - Shin Megami Tensei V.

Shin Megami Tensei V is a long-standing member of the "Nintendo Switch Games We Know Almost Nothing About" club, along with Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4. Atlus has revealed almost no information about the game, even while the Persona spin-off series has been making waves on the Nintendo Switch with Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the upcoming release of Persona 5 Scramble. The Shin Megami Tensei series was a big deal on the Nintendo DS and 3DS, yet💎 Atlus has been oddl🅠y cautious with the series on the Switch.

It's reassuring to know that Shin Megami Tensei V hasn't been canceled like the original Metroid Prime 4 and is still comi꧟ng to the Switch at some point. The fact that Atlus brought it up in its New Years' message to its Japanese fans gives us hope that we might finally learn more about the g𝄹ame in 2020.
