There aren’t many of what one would call typical shooters coming out this year. Right now the remaster of Mafia is due out on August 28. Then the remaster of XIII is coming out on November 10.

Plus there is an expansion for Destiny 2 in the works and Cyberpunk 2077 is like a shooter as well. So what about the other games without dates? This list will run down AAA titles along🧸 🧸with indie games to create a fancy feast of shooters. As always, game dates may get announced by the time this goes up so take these all of these with a grain of salt.

10 Axiom Verge 2

Axiom Verge 2 was announced in 2019 and is set to launch this year exclusively on Switch. Now, the first game released in 2015, and this is only the 🅺second title from Thomas Happ and his studio.

Why the long wait? Well, Axiom Verge has been ported to many consoles since. 🍸This too is a Metroidvania with an emphasis on shooting although it looks like more melee mayhem has been added this time around.

9 Antipole DX

Antipole DX was announced in 2015 and is set to launch this year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This is a remake of the DSiWare game, Antipole, which launched in 2011🐎. It is a shooter platformer, but one with a slight twist.

Players can control gravity which will not only help with traversal, but it can also hurt enemies 👍if used in the righ🧜t way. For those curious, the first edition was reviewed well.

8 Bullet Age

Bullet Age was 💖announced in 2018 and is set to launch this year on PC and Switch. On Nintendo’s website, it says Fall 2020, but Steam has a date for September 25.

Is that date right? For these preview articles, it’s hard to say, but regardless, this shooter platformer looks like it will be a blast. Besides single-player, it 𒈔also supports co-op.

7 Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

This has not been officially announced yet, but Activision has at least confirmed there will be a Call of Duty game in 2🔴020. It’s been like that for over a decade now so why would thi🅘s year be any different?

Since they rebooted Modern Warfare last year it almost seems fitting to do the same with an emphasis on spy action in Black Ops. It would give the franchise a break from future tactics. It will probably launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

6 Chains of Fury

Chains of Fury was announced in 2019 and is set to launch this year on PC and Switch. 🌄It’s a first-person shooter, which is not the reason to get excited about it. What is unique is its comic book-inspired art style.

It actually looks a lot like the roguelike shooter from 2019, Void Bastards. How it plays remains to b൩e seen but it certainly looks unique.

5 Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite was announced in 2018 and is set to launch this year on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The last mainline games was Halo 5: Guardians in 2015 so needless to say fans have been eagerly anticipating this 𒊎for a while.

Will it make it out in 2020 as a launch game for Micro♉soft’s new system? If they hope to have my chance in♍ the console wars, they would be smart to do so.

4 Outriders

Outriders was announced in 2019 and is set to launch this year on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It is yet another RPG shooter with co-op and classes, but it’s not like Destiny. It sounds more like a guided experience like Borderlands.

People should care because it’s being made by People Can Fly, who were formerly a part of Epic before splitting off again. They make some tight shooters like the underrated Bulletstorm from the last generation of consoles.

3 ProtoCorgi

ProtoCorgi was announced in 2017 and is set to launch this year on PC and Switch. There is a vague mont♚h for a release date, November, but that’s it so far. Right now there is a demo on Steam though.

This is a horizontal shooter like classic retro games from the 90s including R-Type and Parodius. It actually falls more in line with the latter of the two as thꦅis is a pretty goofy concept of a cute corgi shooting lasers in space.

2 Say No More

Say No More was announced in 2019 and is set to launch this year on PC and Switch. It looks like Mega Man Legends with the cel-shaded chunky polygons that only the PS1 could provide. The game self proclaims itself to be a “No!-them up” which is a pla🐻y off of shoot ‘em up.

Tired of b🍃eing pushed around in their dead-end job, players will listen to music while they blast coworkers with the word “no.” It may not be what one thinks of as a typical shooter, but its weirdness made it an easy pick for this list.

1 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine was announced in 2019 and is set to launch this year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.𓆏 By the time this comes out more details, and even a date, may be announced as Ubisoft is holding an event on July 12.

What is known right now is that this is a tactical co-op shooter with players fighting off some kind of infected enemy. Is it multipl🥂ayer only o🍃r will there be a campaign? Those are the big questions.
