It started out better than anticipated honestly. At halftime, Sideshow was down 10-3 which means he was keeping the pace for those five final blows before Yaki reached 20. Yaki caught fire in the second half though and the chance for Sideshow to play in the Overwatch League was slipping through his fingers. Soon it was 19-3 and ꧃Yaki was close to victory. Hubris clouded his judgement though as he started messing with Sideshow and even used his ultimate far away just to make it one final 1v1 for victory. Sideshow took that moment to kill Yaki bringing his total to 4 before eliminating him once more to win the battle in losing fashion 5-19.
The deed was done. Sidesh𓄧ow was the hero. It happened the way it was supposed to. Watch his iconic .
The Florida Mayhem have done every🌺thing right this season. A change to their roster, team colors and a reinvigorated social media presence has turned them into a seemingly fan favorite squad which was no easy task given how the first two seasons of the league played out for Florida. It's fascinating to watch and signing Sidesho🅰w to a silly 14-day contract is the perfect storm of memes and great brand management to push their appeal even farther.
This is one of the funniest moments in Overwatch League history. It's highly unlikely Sideshow will actually get to play in a map for Florida once they come back from break, b꧟ut nothing is impossible. He did it for the people. He did it for those who were hard-stuck in Plat with no hopes of escaping to Diamond or above. He did it for us.
