Sifu will be receiving diffi♋culty modes and more accessibility options in an upcoming update.
One of the biggest surprises to come from Sifu's release is that it managed to start up the gaming d♒ifficulty discourse again, despite not really being marketed as a difficult game. Those who are playing it have reported it to be🃏 surprisingly tough and have called for difficulty options to be added in order to give as many players a chance to play as possible.
That wish is being answered, as Sloclap has confirmed that upcoming updates to the game will i♕nclude more accessibility options and the addition of difficulty modes. The news was broken by Steve Saylor, the host of The Weekly, who interviewed Sloclap co-founder Pierre Tarno.
Following the interview, , "Hey! So it's weird I get to help break news but yes Sifu is getting accessibility updates post-launch. Better captions. High Contrast Mode on PS4/5 (was on PC, but not PS4/5 at launch due to a bug). Difficulty Modes. Both easier & harder, similar to Metroid Dread's update."
According to , some of the examples mentioned during the interview include footsteps not making sounds when walking into walls and obstacles, something that the team is looking to remove in order to help those relying on sounds. Closed captioning is another key accessibility option that is looking to be added, as well as a high contrast mode, which is currently in the PC version of the game but not t🔯he console release due to a bug at la𒉰unch.
Tarno also talked about the possibility of difficulty settings being added to the game, noting that Sloclap has heard all of the discussion on the game's difficulty and confirming that it's something that it is "considering and planning for" and that it will "announce something to that end pretty soon". As Tweeted by Saylor, it looks like there will be both easier and harder options depending on what players are looking for in the game.
