Konami is taking its ☂survival horror franchise in a bunc꧑h of weird new directions.

Out of all the upcoming projects, the one that fans are most excited (or nervous) to hear about is undoubtedly the remake of Silent Hill 2, which makes sense given it's one of the most beloved horror games of all time. , it seems like we're not far off from finding out more about Silent Hill 2, as the remake has been receiving consistent updates on Steam over the last few weeks that point to development progressing smoothly.

Silent Hill 2's Steam page being updated to include achievements and languages.

, has been updated several times in the last month, with changes being m🤡ade to the page throughout September. Those changes seem relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, but do show that Konami is cooking something in the background.

While most of last month's updates aren't that exciting and seem to be mostly focused on backend stuff, the Steam page received arguably its biggest update yet just yesterday. October 6th's update notably added a bunch of different supported languages to the game's Steam tags and added a category that noted the game will support achievements on Steam.

That's hardly a surprise considering almost every modern game supports achievements, but the fact that it's being added to the Steam page nearly a year after the remake was announced does seem to imply that Konami is getting closer to announcing something about the game. Beyond some small tidbits mentioned in updates, we've not really heard anything about the remake since it was revealed, so it certainly seems like we're due a new trailer or info dump of some kind.

Although the Steam page still lists Silent Hill 2 as "coming soon", the fact that the store page is being updated as frequently as it is does imply that development is progressing smoothly and that the game could be closer to release than we previously thought, especially if Konami is ready to confirm the game's supported languages.
