10 Wanted: Arcade Mac💃hines
The Sims 4: Get Together introduced the Button Masher 9001, a monstrously huge arcade machine that offers a way for up-to four different Sims𝓰 to play. It's not really fit for residential lots, and it can actually feel pretty out of place in most community lots too.
In The Sims 2: University, there were two single-player arcade machines introduced, Pimp Viking 3D Arcade Game and A-maz-ing Matey! That's not very many, but it's literally double what The Sims 4 has given us so far. It's a tiny detail, but a reasonably sized arcade machine is a perfect addition to any believably populജar hangout spot for university students.
9 💙 Didn't Want: Age Restrictions For University
In The Sims 2: University, Sims were only eligible to attend university during🍰 their tee✅nage years. As long as they enrolled and left home before they aged up into an adult, they would age up into the young adult stage and head off into the real world by themselves. After their adult birthday, university was no longer an option, and they would simply have to get by in the world without a degree.
In the real world, age isn't a factor in whether or not you have access to higher education. You can go back to school whenever you want - and you should be able to do that in The Sims too. Thankfully you now can wit💛h young adults, adults, and elders all able to attend.
8 🌠 Wanted: Pool Tab꧃les
The lack of pool tables in The Sims 4 has been glaringly obvious for quite some time, and unfortunately, adding in university has only made the problem worse. For most people, a classic on-campus hangout would have a bar, a jukebox, a TV playing in the background, and several pool tables. However, The Sims 4: Discover University has chosen to implement ping pong tables instead, just like The Sims 3: University Life. The difference, of course, was that The Sims 3 already had pool tables, as did The Sims 2 and even .
There's nothing objectively wrong with ping pong, especially sin🥀ce it can be used for several different drinking games, but it seems a bit silly to imagine a ful𒆙l-on bar filled with only ping pong, instead of pool, doesn't it?
7 Didn't Want🃏: Non-Interactive Classes
Unfortunately, it's already been 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:confirmed that the classes in The Sims 4: Discover University are going to be done as rabbit holes, meaning that your Sims will simply disappear for a period of time and come back with an update about their day, and an assignment to complete. However, given the choice, most players would probably opt for the interactive classroom style of The Sims 3: University Life instead.
Having to actually go to classes with your Sims in a way that's comparable to the active careers of Get To Work and Get Famous would have been great. Truthfully, even something similar to the freelance careers would have been better than sending them off and waiting for them to come back. Luc🤪kily, there are a lot of other aspects of the game to focus on, so brushing over this one seems like it'll be easy.
6 🎉 Wanted: Playing Music Together (And More Instruments In General)
One of the most obviously missing things in The Sims 4 is music. There are only six different instruments currently available: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, piano, keyboard, and pipe organ. The guitars and pianos both contribute to the Guitar and Piano꧋ skills, so technically, there are only four different musical choices available for your Sims.
In The Sims 2: University, Sims were able to pick bet🅰ween the bass guitar, drums, and a handful of other instruments, and they could even j🎐am out with other Sims to create music together. There was an option to declare Music as your Sims' major as well, allowing them to get a degree in that field.
Music seems to be overall ignored in The Sims 4 and now there isn't even a degree that focuses on it for university students. Talk about disappoi🧜nting.
5 💞 Didn't Want: Family Funds𒆙 That Don't Make A Difference
In The Sims 2: University, your teenage Sims could apply for scholarships. They were doled out based on skills, grades, and other circumstan༒ces like deceased parents. It was an interesting way to implement a bit of realism since it would send your Sims off to school with a set amount of money. However, it was slightly annoying that even the richest of Sims couldn't send their children off with a considerable nest egg.
On one hand, that levels the playing field and doesn't really allow for rich students to be at an advantage over others, which is a ni꧟ce c🎉oncept - but on the other, it's completely unrealistic. Thankfully, low-income scholarships, student loans, and splitting family funds are now all features of the game.
4 ꦿ Wanted: Toga Parties 🃏
Along with the fashion choices, certain gameplay elements of The Sims 2: University are very telling of the time that it came out in. The early 2000s were much different than moderಞn times, and college films were plagued by toga parties, sororities, and fraternities.
It actually aged well over time, at least in terms of The Sims, because there's something charming about throwing a toga party and having your Sim and a bunch of their friends run around chanting, chatting up other Sims, dancing, and p😼ar𝓰tying well into the night. We'll miss this one.
3 Didn't Want: NPC Cheerleaders ﷺ
The original cover art of The Sims 2: University featured a cheerleader and a frat brother in a tog🐼a posing happily behind the logo. However, it was later discovered that the cheerleaders are NPCs, which means that your Sims are unable to actually become a cheerleader.
They'd occasionally pop up during your Sims' time at university and do a cheer routine and, of course, you could interact with them - and even romance them, if that suits your fancy. It would've been nice to have the option of joining the s🐷quad though, both then an🔴d now.
2 Wanted: The Hangout Inter♛action ꦦ
There were several small touches throughout The Sims 2 as a whole that made it feel realistic and tied it all together into a vibrant, dynamic game that's aged surprisingly well. In fact, the most prominent 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:differences in The Sims 4 and previꦦous games in the series always seem 💖to be really minor details.
In The Sims 2: University, a new interaction called Hangout was introduced that allowed Sims to... well, hangout. They would simply sit down and spend hours chatting, with up to six Sims in a group. It was a lo🌟w-maintenance way to b🌌uild up your Sims' social needs and their relationships - and it was just nice to see your Sims doing something so human. The current interaction doesn't compare.
1 D🔯idn't Want: No Degre✃es For Pre-Existing Adults And Elders
Barring Sims 💖over the Teen stage from attending university was bad enough on its own, but to make things worse, there was no way to give pre-existing ⭕Sims a degree. There are, as there always are, mods that made it possible, but even years later, it seems like a serious oversight that appears to still be in the game.
Degrees brought plenty of benefits with them, like extra Want slots, so it didn't seem very fair that only brand new Sims were eligible to receive them. Something as simple as allowing Sims to be given a degree upon loading the household for the first time after installing University would h🌌ave fixed the problem entirely. W✨e hope this turns out to be an option.
