If you've ever wondered what it's actually like when your Sims go to work, wonder no longer with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4: Get to Work. This expansion pack adds three new careers that allow you to follow your Sim to their place of work and actually control them as they tackle their job's tasks.
One of the careers added by the pack is the Doctor Career, which will have your Sim taking care of patients - whether it's bringing them food or performing emergency surgeries on them. Your performance has never mattered more, as it can be disastrous if you mistreat a Sim.
Updated April 25, 2023: We've taken another look at this guide to make sure the information within is presented in a clear, easy-to-read fashion.
Doctor Career Tasks
Once you've joined your Sim at the hospital, you'll realize that in the top-left corner of the screen, they have a list of tasks that they have to complete. This is pa♉i𓆉red with a performance bar which fills up as tasks are completed - your overall job performance will increase based on how well you can fill this bar up each time you go to work.
The Doctor Career haღs rather simple tasks to balance out how time-consuming they are and how easy it is to mess up.
- At the beginning of the career, you'll largely be taking care of patients and performing simple diagnosis routines on them. Eventually, you'll hand them over to the doctors, since you aren't allowed to treat them yourself just yet.
- Later on in the career, you'll start treating patients yourself, even performing surgery on them!
-
Bringing patients food is ꦦan easy way to interact with a lot of patients without micromanaging and may stop them from going home early from feeling 🌜ignored. It does take a lot of time, however.
Diseases And Diagnosis
Once you are able to treat patients yourself, you'll be given more information about the patients' ailments as you perform more diagnoses. After a few examinations, you'll get a list of ailments that you think the patient might have. You can lock in an illness and treat it there and then, or perform a morܫe in-depth diagnosis to narrow the list of choices down. Be careful though, you only have one chance to pick the correct diagnosis.
-
You have a variety of high-level diagnosis methods available to you, including getting the patient to use a treadmill or be x-rayed.
- These are useful if they work, but will often fail unless you are on the upper rungs of the Doctor Career ladder.
- They are also very time-consuming, so you really have to weigh up the potential positives against the negatives.
- In order to test a patient on the treadmill or get them x-rayed, you need to refer them to that diagnosis room. You will then need to follow them and then perform the diagnosis.
-
Once a diagnosis is locked in, you must then treat your patient with the correct treatment.
- Some illnesses will just require inoculation, while others require surgery.
- Surgery is similar to the treadmill or x-ray machine - to use the Surgery Machine you need to refer your patient and then follow them to perform the surgery.
- Once you have treated your patient, you will immediately learn whether you were successful or not.
All of the illnesses in The Sims 4 have visual cues that can streamline the process once you learn them. 💞Some of them are more obvious than others and can make you feel more confident when picking an ailment out of many when your Sim is only mildly certain about the illness presented. The table below details every illness and its tells.

Using the table ab🅷ove you should be able to work out what illness the patient has from sight alone. Just watch them for a little while.
Emergency Surgeries
Once you have the ability to use the Surgery Machine, you have a chance of encountering emergencies. These will involve Sims walking into the hospital and collapsing on the floor - you will need to quickly stop what you are doing and treat them immediately with the Surgery Machine. Luckily, there is no need to diagnose these Sims, and they are an easy way to bump up your job 🧔performance considerably.
As surgeries are rather rare, emergencies are great for satisfying surgery promotion requirements.
Once you have reached the rank of Medical Specialist in the Doctor Career, you may get an emergency baby that has to be delivered. This is pretty much the same as a regular surgery emergency but will have you delivering a bundle of joy instead. One of these is required to be promoted, so get to it ASAP.

Working your way up the Doctor Career ladder is simply a case of completing the tasks given to you and treating plenty of patients. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:It's a more varied career path than, say🔯, Detective or Scientist tha🔴nks to how you pick up new things to do rather consistently.
