Skyrim mods have prett🅠y🐻 much become their own genre of games and general entertainment. While some mods work towardsimproving the gameoverall, other mods justwant to watch Skyrim burn. However, 🗹mods aren’t the only thin𝔉g that Skyrim has to offer; the game’s engine has also spawned a number of remasters, remakes, and evencompletely different games.

One such ambitious fan project is called Skyblivion, an attempt to remake Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion using the Skyrim engine. The developer group works on a volunteer based system and “are currently in the process of porting and rebuilding Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition.” The team has been w🐷orking on the project for almost 8 years now.

In a recent development pro꧃gress update, the Skyblivion team has put out a video showcasing the mod’s environments and quest system. The video shows us just how impressive the environment looks. The showcase takes us on a journey across the Gerald Mountains, the Gold Coast, the Colovian Highlands, the Heartlands, the Nibe🏅nay Basin and Valley, and the Blackwood Swamp.

“While it’s not quite done yet, we are inching closer and closer to completing the exterior world space everyday,” said the narrator in the video update. Oblivion is littered with 2663 interiors, and the dev team aims to remake each one. The team working on these interiors is ಞcurrently focused on all caves, mines, and other dungeons. The team won’t just be remaking these caves and dungeons ♛as they were in Oblivion, Skyblivion will see them reworked to better suit the region and the corresponding quest.

One of the mos💧t impressive achievements of the volunteer dev team is a custom tool, created to easily import Oblivion quests to the Skyrim engine; this was a major issue with previous builds. They’ve also polished up and made tweaks to the UI. There’s no word from the team on when they expect to finish the project, but they “are finally seeing the end of the road”.

The developer team is also on the lookout for volunteers to help with the Skyblivion project. If you’d like to help♌ them out, you can register to volunteer.
