Quick Links
Skyrim has so many quests that it's hard to tell what's important and what you don't care about! It can also be hard to predict the outcomes of the quests, even though they can have huge ramifications on the game going forward in some cases. If you're stumped by the quest Forgetting about Fjola (or just want to know what the rewards are), look no further.
Obtaining The Quest
You'll receive this quest from Fjola's husband, Christer. He's in the first level of Mistwatch North Tower and explains that he - a simple Food Vendor - is in this dangerous place because he believes his wife h🅠as been kidnapped by Bandits. Agree to help him and he'll give you the Mistwatch Key, which opens any locked doors in ♍this area.
Where To Find Mistwatch
You need to look for Fjola in the same place you found Christer. However, if you didn't run off in search of her right after obtaining th𓆉e quest, you'll need to fast travel back.
Mistwatch is located right on the border between Eastmarch and The Rift. It's directly south of the ciꦦty of Windhelm and is represented by a tower icon.
How To Find Fjola
The Tower where you met Christer is the North Tower: start here. If you're🍷 on the outside of the fort, just head upstairs and across the drawbridge to enter the North Tower.
Once you speak to Christer, if you haven't already, you should progress through the North Tower. The path is fairly linear so yo🤡u would have a tough time getting lost. Keep your guard up, though, because a few bandits are waiting inside. Eventually, you'll exit onto the roof of the North Tower and walk to the next one over: the West Tower.
Entering the West Tower, you'll face two more bandits with a dead woman, locked in a cell. If you're one for flavor text, you can find a note on a nearby table that tells you why the woman is dead. Either way, push on and exit to the roof again so that you can walk across and enter the East Tower.
Talking To Fjola
As you make your way through the East Tower, you'll eventually be stopped and pulled into dialogue with the Bandit Leader. She asks what you're doing here and when you explain that you only want to rescue Fjola, she announces that she is Fjola. She explains that she has no desire t🐷o go back to her husband and has actually chosen to become a Bandit. She won't return to Christer.
Your Decision And The Consequences
Option 1: Kill Fjola
Your first option is to kill Fjola. You can an💙nounce your intentions to her in the conversation, or agree to get rid of her husband for her and then kill her anyway. The latter method is a bit easier since you can get a sneak attack in. When you return to Christer after killing Fjola, he'll panic and become enraged, attacking you. Whether you spare him or murder him too is up🐼 to you.
Option 2: Lie To Christer
The second, more peaceful option is to agree to lie to Christer so that he leaves. When you tell Fjola that you'll help, she gives you h♔er wedding ring, hoping that it'l🐎l help you to convince him that you found her and he should leave.
Upon returning to Christer, you can either:
- Tell him that she's dead and you took her ring for him (Reward: Christer allows you to keep the ring)
- Tell him that you couldn't find her but that you found her ring (Reward: Christer takes the ring and pays you in gold)
To c🌃omplete the quest via this route, just return to Fjola after convincing Christer to go.
