Among open world games that have demonstrated incredible longevity and continued popularity, Skyrim ranks among the likes of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. However, the Bethesda RPG surely takes🔯 the crown for the variety and depth of the mods that have been created for it. Another new notable addition to the veritable feast of modifications available for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has been making the rounds.
If you loved school, have an academic bent, and take an interest in researching mysterious civilisations, then modder Zamio1 has just the mod for you. As spotted by , the 'Scholarship of Skyrim' lets you do just that. Uploaded at the end of July, but recently updated, the mod allows players to "become a real scholar".
Players will be able to pick a topic regarding one of three ancient cultures found in Skyrim &nཧdash; Dwemer, Falmer, and Ancient Nords – and research them in order to write a thesis on them. It sounds like a dream roleplay for those wa🌄nting to turn away from the magic and melee fighting and get all scholarly instead, journeying across Tamriel to conduct academic research.
The leveling mechanics are centered around writing better books and becoming a master scholar. "You can write better books through research!" the mod's description page reads. "Research takes many forms, studying in the Arcaneum, collaborating with fellow scholars or exploring in a ruin relevant to what your topic is".
Mod users can conduct more research to boost Writing Level which in turn leads to a better book (as you would expect). However, new academics shouldn't expect to produce a great book from the off, but the more finished works produced the higher your Scholarship Level.
While digging into the archives at Arcaneum is worthwhile, the need to carry out field research is stressed, as well as searching out your fellow academic peers. These fellow scholars are scattered across the world of 🙈Skyrim for players to find and who will help out with your research. So academics can get out and about and explore dungeons in order to discover more about these ancient cultures which have left their mark on Tamriel.
The modder advises adding the 'Shops Sell Paper' and 'Writing Materials for Spell Research' mod since you'll be needing paper to write those game-changing academic works. Those interested can find the Scholarship of Skyrim mod .
