Life is pretty cheap in Skyrim. A great number of everyday people out in the world can be quite quickly and ea💦sily rendered ex-people by an impulsive Dragonborn. There are whole questlines dedicated to this, in fact. Playing your would-be hero as a murdering maniac may run them into trouble with the law eventually, though the jail sentences are light enough that personal restraint and the wish to keep merchants alive might be the only thing in the way of a complete rampage.

What if, on the other hand, you want to take the virtuous path? That doesn't necessarily mean that the Dragonborn cannot get their hands dirty from time to time. Whether it's for expediting a quest, wanting to clear out an NPC house for a place to hide, or just through a desire to mete out justice in the most heavy-handed way possible, there are some people whose absence would probably make Skyrim a nicer place to live in. Spoilers for several quests ahead.

10 ♛ Grelod the Kind

So bad she got an ironic name, Grelod is one of the most obvious potential candidates to send to the afterlife ahead of time, not in part because you are asked to do so. Grelod is the proprietor of the orphanage in Riften, and is notoriously horrible to the children in residence there. Aventus Arentino, a boy who escaped the woman's regime, even attempts to call the infamous Dark Brotherhood to get rid of her and save his fellow orphans.

Dispatching Grelod will not upset many people. The children will be delighted, and won't call the Riften guard. There is heavy implication afterward that even knowing the Dragonborn is the killer, the people of Riften aren't terribly interested in giving them legal consequences.

9 Weylin

This one requires a bit of quick thinking. The Dragonborn, on entering the city of Markarth for the first time, is likely to see a man named Weylin jogging past. He's moving quickly for a good reason. He's about to murder an Imperial lady named Margret as she's shopping for jewellery at a nearby stall.

There's not a lot of time to act, but it's possible to chase Weylin down and take him out as he pulls the knife. This saves Margret, who hands over her recent purchase as a little reward. There's not much reason to feel bad for Weylin, as were he successful, the guards would have treated him to a similar end.

8 Hert And Hern 🅘

Skyrim screenshot of NPCs Hert and Hern.

Working for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Dark Brotherhood is a little rough, morally speaking. The organisation takes all kinds of contracts, and a lot of the people you are sent after are individuals who were just getting on with their lives until they are cut short at the Dragonborn's hands. On the other hand, a few out there turn out to be fairly deserving of their fate.

Half-Moon Mill sits outside Falkreath, and its owner, Hern, is on the Brotherhood's list. While it may look like an ordinary lumber mill at a glance, the bodies in the shed tell otherwise. Hern and his wife Hert are vampires, and appear to have been indulging in the worst excesses of the condition. They aren't even good millers. Falkreath would probably be a bit safer without them.

7 The 💦Thalmor ꧟

Plotting against the thalmor

These prejudiced Mer get a collective addition to the list. Whether you're a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ꦜStormcloak sympathiser or a🐻 dedicated Imperial, it's hard to think of anything redeeming about this organisation of Elven religious fanatics. They are present in Skyrim due to the Empire's fear of the Aldmeri Dominion's strength, and their hatred of the worship of Talos. Highly ideologically opposed to the idea of a man becoming a God, the Thalmor will attempt to execute Talos worshippers on sight.

Even if your Dragonborn is indifferent to Talos, chances are they won't like them much. They are intense Elven supremacists, Altmer particularly, though won't hesitate to also hate High Elves who don't toe the line with their extreme beliefs. No one really wants these zealots in Skyrim, so swing away.

6 Degaine

Many of the beggars in Skyrim are pleasant enough people when you get to know them. Even surly individuals like Riften's Snilf might get a little appreciative of charity thrown their way. Degaine is possibly the least gracious of them all. He can generally be found wandering Markarth, shouting verbal abuse at the stallholders in the marketplace. If gifted money he'll immediately take it, then tell you to leave him alone unless it's to give him more coins.

To add to the charm, he has some fairly creepy feelings towards✃ the priestesses of Dibella, wanting to steal their statue &mdas🔯h; in part because he was apparently kicked out for acting up inside. Feel free to show him out permanently.

5 𝕴 Arvel The Swift ℱ

Skyrim screenshot of NPC Arvel the Swift.

Met early on in your quest, Arvel is a Dunmer thief who might have ended the Dovahkiin's quest before it had even really started. Arvel stole a rare gold dragon claw from the shop in Riverwood. Had he run away with it permanently, it would have rendered Bleak Falls Barrow closed forever. Fortunately, Arvel was greedy enough to try and tackle the tomb on his own.

By the time you enter, he'll be trapped in a spider's web and begging to be saved, promising to hand over the claw. He is, of course, lying through his teeth, and hitting him right after he drops will avoid him taking off deeper into the barrow with it.

4 Mogrul

Skyrim screenshot of NPC Mogrul asleep.

As an immediate clarification, this is not directed at the Orsimer who forms 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:part of the Dawnguard. This Mogrul lives on the island of Soltheim and acts as a rather ruthless loan shark. He is so ruthless, in fact, that he will send thugs after the Dragonborn for helping another NPC leave town — where he cannot be terrorized by Mogrul's lackeys.

He can, of course, be paid off in order to calm him down. On the other hand, he becomes non-essential once he has started hounding you for the gold. While accompanied most places by a bodyguard, it's not too hard for a sneaky character to enter his room at the Retching Netch and settle the debt their own way.

3 Calixto

Skyrim screenshot of npc Calixto Corrium

At first meet🦄ing, Calixto Corrium might seem like a harmless, if slightly eccentric Imperial man living in Windhelm. He runs the House of Curiosities museum, and will even offer a tour. Unfortunately for most of Windhelm, Calixto leads a horrible double life. The man is a serial killer, and has been attacking women after dark. Investigating the murders in the quest Blood On The Ice, the Dragonborn will eventually have to take to the street to try and catch the killer.

If you see Calixto, then the best approach is to drop him on sight. Uninterrupted, he will pull and knife and will murder one of the women NPCs left out after dark. There won't be any bounty, and you'll be doing Windhelm a service.

2 Alva

Skyrim screenshot showing Alva in a coffin.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Morthal is having a bit of trouble. People are dying mysteriously, and houses are burning down in strange circumstances. Much of this can be eventually traced back to a woman named Alva. The recently-bereaved Hroggar appears strangꦬely attached to her, and she only comes out at night.

Getting into Hroggar's house during the day will confirm any suspicions about her real nature. Removing Alva from the picture will inform Morthal of the threat fully. Given that she already sleeps in a coffin, she's pretty much packed up ready.

1 Lemkil

Skyrim screenshot of npc Lemkil.

There aren't that many utterly unambiguously terrible NPCs out there, but it's hard to think of anything redeeming about Lemkil. Lemkil is a mean-spirited and ill-tempered farmer who lives in Rorikstead. The locals dislike him, both for his charmless personality, and how unkind he is towards his children. He constantly complains about the two, and even undermines attempts by other locals to give the children better clothes.

If you do decide to remove Lemkil, his children will end up in Honorhall Orphanage, though they seem to be happier there. You may even get a letter from his daughter Sissel, thanking you for it. His name is even an anagram of 'Kill Me'.
