Almost all of you reading probably dashed up those steps on your first playthrough - with a brief pause to get battered by an Ice Troll - only to make it to High Hrothgar in minutes and wonder what all the fu⛦ss was about.

If You're Gonna Be A Stealth Archer In Skyrim, You Might As Well Do It Right
The only way to be a Stealth Archer in Skyrim...
You'd be singing a different tune if you actually had to physically walk 7,000 steps to get to the home of the Greybeards, which is exactly what ꦿYouTuber ShakeMistake did in one of his most recent streams. Yes, in an effort to see just how difficult the climb to High Hrothgar ✤would be for your average Dragonborn, .
In order to make their hike as accurate as possible, ShakeMistake first made the decision to scale his character down as much as possible. Skyrim's world is signifiꦡcantly scaled down in 𒅌order to make it playable, but that means it isn't lore-accura🔴te, so Shake Mistake first had to scale his character down too to try and actually make the climb up to High Hrothgar take 7,000 steps.

Next came the actual hike, and Shake Mistake decided to make things even more accurate by using an incline treadmill to simulate walking up the mountain. Using an app called Stepl, Shake Mistake hooked up their phone to their computer and placed it in their pocket, making it so that every time they took a step on their treadmill, their character took a step in the 🔥game.
You can check outꦬ exactly how ShakeMistake managed to set this all up in their video embedded above, including the mods they used to make it possible and how they determined the most accurate incline for their treadmill.
Unfortunately, all that effort still ended up with ShakeMistake only taking 🎉around 5,550 steps before they reached High Hrothgar, so they made the extra effort to walk up the entire mountain instead. At the end of their journey, ShakeMistake took a grand total of 8,022 steps to reach the summit, which is 4 miles based on an average p🔴erson's height and walking speed.
It also took the creator roughly an hour and a half of solid incline walking to reach the sumౠmit, wh😼ich makes my calves burn just thinking about it. ShakeMistake is a pretty athletic person too, revolves around working out like fictional characters and doing other strange movement-based challenges while gaming. If even they struggled to make it up the 7,000 Steps, think twice about attempting it yourself.
