The Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim adds a questline involving the Volkihar Clan. While completing this story, you will come across the quest Seeking Disclosure, which requires you to gather both the Blood and the Dragon Elder Scroll. You will receive the Blood Elder Scroll through a concurrent quest, although the Dragon Elder Scroll is gained as part of the base game's storyline.

To accept🦩 the quest, visit one of the NPCs listed below depending on which side of the DLC you are🌳 on

  • Harkon
    • If you are a Vampire
  • Isran
    • If you are in the Dawnguard

Upon speaking with one of these people, you will be given Seeking Disclosure, which requires you to bring the Dragon and Blood Elder Scroll to Dexion Evicus. Although the NPCs are in different locations, the location of the scrolls will remain the same. Next, let's look at where you can find these scrolls.

Blood Elder Scroll

The Blood Elder Scroll will be rewarded to you once you complete Chasing Echoes and Beyond Death. These two quests require you to enter into the Soul Cairn, 'slay' Durnehviir, and take the Elder Scroll.

Once you accept Seeking Disclosure, speak with Serana and she will mention the possible location of the scroll. You will not be able to complete this quest until you finish Chasing Echoes and Beyond Death; this is the only way to obtain the Blood Elder Scroll. Dragon Elder Scroll

The Dragon Elder Scroll can be obtained through two different methods, which are listed below.

Elder Knowledge

This quest is part of the main storyline of the game. Elder Knowledge is part of Act II, consisting of locating and recovering the Dragon Elder Scroll.

This is a fairly long quest that is accompanied by the side quest Discerning The Transmundane. To retrieve the Elder Scroll, you will need to complete both of these quests. Fortunately, the quests intersect, and you will be able to complete them at the same time. Overall, if you play through the main storyline of Skyrim, you will be able to obtain the Dragon Elder Scroll.

Scroll Scouting Quest

If you no longer have the scroll from Elder Knowledge, then you will need to complete Scroll Scouting. For this quest, you will need to visit Urag gro-Shub at the College of Winterhold and buy the scroll back for 4,000 gold.

It's important to note that you can only start scroll scouting if you once had the Elder Scroll, but then sold it to Urag gro-Shub. I☂f you have never had the scroll in your possession, then you will need to co🧸mplete Elder Knowledge first.

Bringing The Scrolls To Dexion

With both Elder Scrolls in your inventory, it's time to visit Dexion. After showing him the scrolls, he explains that he has been blinded, and won't be able to read the scrolls. Instead of reading them for you, Dexion mentions that you should travel to Ancestor Glade and perform the Ritual of the Ancestor Moth. Here, you should be able to read the scrolls and learn the location of Auriel's Bow. Before leaving, Dexion will give you the Sun Elder Scroll as a reward for completing the quest.

This marks the end of Seeking Disclosure, leading directly into Unseen Visions, where you need to enter Ancestor Glade and read the scrolls. Now that you have both scrolls, head to Ancestor Glade and continue on through the Dawnguard storyline.
