As you explore Riften and the Thieves Guild in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Skyrim, you will come across Delvin Mallory and Vex. These two NPCs are members of the Thieves Guild and are 🐭associated with a few different quests. If you are lookinꦿg to complete the Under New Management quest, you will need to complete a separate quest for Delvin.
In this guide, we are going to go over how to complete Summerset Shadows, the associated Thieves Guild quest for Windhelm. Other cities, such as Markarth and Whiterun will also have Thieves Guild quests that can be accepted from Delvin. First, let's look at the prerequisites that you need to complete before beginning Summerset Shadows.
Completing Five Small Jobs
This quest will only become available once you complete five small jobs for Delvin and Vex. To get 🙈a small job, all 🍃you need to do is talk with one of these NPCs.
Small jobs are randomly generated (also called Radiant), tasking you with retrieving an item from a specific location. I🐻n general, these small jobs are relatively short and should not take too much time.
After five jobs have been accepted and completed for Windhelm, Delvin will tell you that there is a rival guild named Summerset Shadows that is making some noise, and you need to look into it.
Locating Torsten Cruel-Sea
Upon speaking with Delvin, he will tell you of a wealthy merchant named Torsten Cruel-Sea that needs help. Your first task is to travel to Windhelm and speak with him. You⛎ can find Torsten walking around the city, as well as around the walls.
Once you speak to him, Torsten will tell you that this rival guild has killed his daughter and stole her silver locket. Fortunately, Torsten has already killed the one responsible for the death of his daughter, but while doin𝔉g so, he also ⛎learned of the new rival guild.
Lastly, Torsten will give you the name of someone that may be behind the murder; Niranye. Now, you will need to speak with her.
Speaking With Niranye
Niranye is an Altmer merchant who can be found in a stall near the White Phial during the day. If you are seeking her out at night, she will be in the New Gnisis Cornerclub.
Once you find Niranye, confront her about Torsten's daughter. You will have a few options to obtain the information that she is hiding from you. The simplest way to get the information that Niryane has is to look for proof of her involvement.
This proof can be found in Niranye's house, a large home on the east side of Windhelm. Inside the house, head to the eastern room and search for a hidden panel in the back. This will lead to the basement, which contains a safe holding letters from the leader of the Summerset Shadows, which name their hideout.
Persuasion and Intimidation
With a high enough level in speech, you can attempt to persuade or intimidate Niranye. If these 🌃attempts do not work, nothing will happen. If they do work, she will give you information.
Killing Niranye
The last option is to kill Niranye. This will happen is you ꦆchoose the following option w𒁃hile talking to her.
- I don't have time for this!
Once dead, you can loot the letters containing information from her body.
It's important to note that if Niranye is kept alive, she will become a fence after this quest is done. This means that if you kill her, you will not be able to use her as a fence.
Uttering Hills Cave
The letters to Niranye mention the hideout of the Summerset Shadows, which is Uttering Hills Cave. This location can be found to the west of Windhelm, atop a snowy mountain.
Once you are here, you will see a small camp set up outside the entrance of the cave. You can either kill the Shadows here or sneak past them.
Proceed inside, and you will come across a small area with paths leading in two different directions. These paths will both connect to the same room, and each pathway will hold one Shadow. Pick a path, kill the Shadow, and then enter into the cave where the paths jo𓄧in.
Continue through the straightforward path of the cave until you come to a banner with two doors on either side of it. The door on the left contains two Shadows, while the door on the right contains the boss of the Summerset Shadow, Linwe.
Defeating Linwe
Enter the room with Linwe, and he will immediately begin attacking you. Overall, you should be able to kill him pretty quickly. Once dead, loot his corpse to find the silver locket, as well as his armor and weapons.
You can also sneak to Linwe and pickpocket the locket from him. Keep in mind, Linwe has a high detection level, so this may prove to be quite difficult.
Leaving The Cave
To leave the cave, you need to go back the way you came; there is no secret entrance that you can sneak through to leave.
Once you are in the area containing the banner and two doors, you will have the option to burn the banner. This can be done with any fire spell, as well as a shout. If you successfully pickpocketed the locket from Linwe without killing him, then burning the banner has a high chance of alerting him.
To burn the banner, position yourself at a safe distance and hide immediately afterward so Linwe will not be alerted to your presence.
Returning To Torsten
With the locket in hand, it's time to head back to Windhelm and speak with Torsten. Hand over the loඣck💧et, and the quest will complete.
Rewards
As a reward, you will receive the following.
- An enchanted Ring, Circlet or Necklace
- If you didn't kill Niranye, she will become a fence
- A new merchant outside the Ragged Flagon
Lastly, three Thief Cache barrels will appear around Windhelm. These are barrels filled with loot that reset if you leave town for more than 10 days straight. The barrels in🅰 Windhelm can be found in the following locatiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚons.
- Outside Niranye's House
- Behind the door to Sadri's used Wares
- In an alcove to the north of the door to Hjerim
With that, you have completed Summerset Shadows. Don't forget to complete other small jobs for Delvin and Vex so you can complete Under New Management and become the leader of the Thieves Guild.
