The Elder Scrolls Renewal team recently posted a new video for their work-in-progress project Skywind over on the TESRSkywindOfficial YouTube channel. showcases 15 minutes of beautiful gameplay that focuses on NPCs and locations involved with the Battle of Nchurdamz quest. The video also presents the spectacle of quality work the TESRSkywind team is doing with the Skywind recreation.

The TESR Skywind Project is a total renewal of the Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks 2002 open-world RPG The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. Where the original Morrowind used the NetImmerse (now Gamebryo) engine developed by Gamebase Co., Ltd. and Gamebase USA, the Skywind team is using the modern advanced Skyrim: Special Edition engine to create their updated version.

According to the TESR team, the Battle at Nchurdamz v🎃id represents a years’ worth of progress (since their last update vid) at updating “world region design, sound effects, quests, 2D concepts, 3D modelling, implementation, mechanics, weather/atmosphere, voice acting, and more.” One of their most important milestones - simplifying the process for “creating custom creature skeletons and animations” - is displayed in this vid by way of the Dwemer spiders, and the team expects this will greatly help with future animations for “the guar, betty netch, silt strider, kwama, and much more”

The vid begins with the player character (aka Outlander, n’wah, the Nerevarine) onboard a ship anchored at the Sadrith Mora docks. We disembark and travel through the wonওderfully-constructed mushroom architecture of the Telvanni capital, Sadrith Mora, unt🉐il we reach Fara’s Hole in the Wall. Inside, we meet Hrundi, who gives us the Battle at Nchurdamz quest to help Larienna Macrina at the Dwemer ruins of Nchurdamz.

Arriving at Nchurdamz, we meet Larienna and quickly enter the Dwemer ruins, which look, sound, and feel just as new and immersive as when they were encountered the very first time. We move through the unique brass-like metal structures common to Dwemer architecture, loot some chests, fight some Dwemer spiders, and repair a Dwemer elevator to go꧟ lower into the ruins. Soon we discover Daedric ruins and a beast known as Hrelvesuu, the target of Larienna’s quest for vengeance.

The vid absolutely demonstrates the excellent work the TESR team has done and is doing, but they are a long way from being finished. To that end, they are actively seeking voice actors🤡, level designers, 3D modelers, coders, and people experienced in working with Skyrim’s Creation Kit.
