Sledgehammer Games has responded to the claims that it purposefully left out Activision's name in the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal trailer.
Earlier this week, Sledgehammer Games hosted its Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal, which included a trailer showcasing the game. Within the trailer, many noticed that there were no mentions oꦇf Activision, instead choosing to feature it as "Call of Duty Presents". The only time Activision is referenced within the trailer is in small legal text right at the end.
This was taken by many as a clear attempt to distance the game from the ongoing allegations and lawsuit brought towards Activision Blizzard regarding toxic workplace behaviour. Previous Call of Duty trailers have showcased the publisher with no issues, so it seemed to some that the Vanguard reveal was trying to distance itself from𝔍 the lawsuit and from Activision.
, Sledgehammer Games has since responded to those claims, saying that the omission was a "creative choice". In a statement to ﷺVGC, it said, "Call of Duty has continued to expand into an incredible universe of experiences. This was a creative choice that reflects how Vanguard represents the next major installment in the franchise.”

Sledgehammer Games responded to the lawsuit during the reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard, saying, "So on behalf of Sledgehammer💮 Games, and all of the teams supporting Call of Duty Vanguard, harassment of any kind goes against everything we stand for as a studio. Everyone, regardless of title, role, gender, orientation, ethnicity, should be treated always with dignity, respect, and equality."
