Ness' route can be fairly tough, but for the most part, it's manageable. Even the final boss (Master Hand and Crazy Hand) isn't necessarily that difficult because Ness has some very ꧒strong attacks.
However, it's very easy to undo your perfect streak when you reach the Onett stage near 🌠the end. The small confines of the stage and the traffic hazards are bad enough, but you also have to fight Villager and Isabelle, who can catch Ness' projectiles (and Isabelle's fishing rod is nearly impossible to avoid).
5 Zelda
Zelda's route is fairly simple right up until stage 6, which🃏 can be the make-or-break moment. You have to fight a team of four Links, which means you have to deal with a lot of projectiles. Even if you're extremely proficient with Zelda's neutral special and her telep♕ort, it only takes one slip for you to be caught in a barrage of bombs, boomerangs, and arrows.
Furthermoꦇre, the stage (Hyrule Castle) often has small tornadoes appear, and they can really mess up your plans if one spawns where y♛ou're standing.

You've always got to fight two other characters in a free-for-all (the opponents are identical), but they're still more inclined to⛎ fight you instead of each other, so it may as well be a tag-team.
Even when they do decide to fight each other, you can't wait around for one to die and then fight the other because that'll take too much time, and that wi💫ll hinder your intensity gains.
1 Toon Link
Each of Toon Link's stages are team battles, where you're paired with two other Toon 🅠Links and must face against other teams of various sizes. This seems like it would be easier, but the sheer amount of visual noise can actually make it harder to quickly defeat the other team, espec🌺ially with so many fighters on screen.
In fact, the main worry from this rout🐓e isn't necessarily to do with dying. Instead, it stems from spending so long in a match that the intensity isn't raised high enough afterwards.
