Following the reveal of Byleth as the final DLC character of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first Fighters Pass, Nintendo announced that a second Fighters Pass featuring six more characters will roll out this month. Aside fro♏m an exclusive Mii Fighter costume, no characters have been announced or teased following the announcement.
The first set of DLC characters added layers of intrigue and speculation as to who would be included and how they would impact the game’s competitive meta. These characters were a mix of forgotten favorites like Banjo and Kazooie, guest characters like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 5’s Joker and Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and uninspired entries such as the Piranha Plant and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fire Emblem’s Byleth.
Outside of Joker turning out being universally regarded as one of the best characters in the game, the other entries have not made an impact to the tournament meta. With that considered, Nintendo’s reveal of guest characters for Smash happens to be a 𒁃newsworthy event considering the runaway success of the title, now the best selling fighting game of all time.
Then again, there are hopes that Nintendo will add a little more variety to the guest characters. Byleth only adds to the heavy presence of Fire Emblem chara𝐆cters, not to mention a fascination with sword characters that make up nearly a quarter of the cast. The response to Byleth’s inclusion is tepid at best, but there are, as is par for the course with every single release since Piranha Plant’s reveal shortly after the game’s laun𝄹ch in 2018.
While there is no indication on who Nintendo will include this time, it does send a clear message that this version of Smash is going to be around for a while. By adding more characters and keeping an eye on the balance and player experience, Smash will continue to be a cornerstone for the Nintendo Switch and the premier fighting game for esports. One can only hope that the next batch of DLC can finally include Geno from Super Mario RPG for no other reason besides silencing the constan𝓡t groaning and com🐬plaints across social media each time a new character is announced.
