Considered one of the greatest 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros Melee players of all time, Mew2King released official tiered ranking on YouTube of every character in the game basඣed on their utility in competi🉐tive play.
Super Smash Bros Melee has historically been one of the most popular games of all-time for competitive play, due largely to its then-revolutionary fast combat-style ඣgameplay. This list was originally created by M2K, one of the world's most respected players, and re-purposed here for analysis.
You can also find a discussion of the list on . Without f♈urther ado, let's jump in and see how the list ℱshook out.
Bowser
According to M2K, the worst character in t🥃he game is Bowser. His slow attack speed and large bo🎀dy area to land an attack mean that Bowser is a sitting duck against an experienced player. If you are entering a tournament and choose Bowser, you should probably save yourself the entry fee.
Kirby
Casual players love to use Kirby -we've allꦿ seen the classic strategy of floating to the top of the screen only to drop down as a brick on top of your opponents. For the experienced, though, he's one of the worst according to Mew2King. He does have strong recovery, the ability to duck very low, and a good shield, but he's borderline useless against Fox, which is one of the most popular charact𒆙er choices on the pro scene. And his attacks are weak. Avoid Kirby.
Zelda
In this list, Zelda was separated from Sheik as two separate characters. You'll see Sheik later - 🥃much later. Zelda has a decent down smash that strikes in frame four, and decent recovery. The rest of the character could use some work, though. Again, you probably want to avoid this character.
Roy
As M2K notes, Roy was once viewed more positively. For a new player, Roy is a fine choice to defeat your friends, and even in pro play, Roy is a decent match-up against Fox on the Final Destination stage. Despite this, Roy has moves 20% slower t🏅han Marth's that also have less range and power, which means this is a bottom-tier character.
Mewtwo
Mewtwo's ranking suffers heavily from poor match-ups against Falco and Marth, two of the pro scene's most commonly used 🍃characters. Mewtwo also has difficulties starting combination attacks, and his tail being considered part of his body for incoming attacks is unfortunate. His down-tilt and wave dash are strengths, but ultimately Mewtwo suffers against characters with extended range on their attacks.
Link
Per M2K, Link functions oppositely to Young Link. While Young Link serves as an effective counter-pick to many c✅haracters with great strengths and awful weaknesses, Link is the counterpoint to that: his strengths are limited, but so are his weaknesses. He's an okay choice, trending towards average - but there's still better characters available to you. A lot of them.
Mario
Mario is perfectly average. His chain grab is solid, but it has less knock-back than Dr. Mario's, which means it's most effective 🍬when the opponent has at least some damage rather than none. However, his fireballs are worse than Dr. Mario's pills, and he cannot protect the ledge as well as Dr. Mario because, unlike Doc, his cape cannot extend below surfaces.
Samus
Samus is one of those characters everyone loved when they first got the game. Her B-attack is very strong, and if you can land it on an opponent with some damage, it's likely to deal a KO. Again, this is one of your prototypical "noob killers." M2K offers the valuable insight that more players should utilize Samus's two-frame window ledge jump + up-air move to enable an "invincible" move. Watch for a more detailedܫ explanation of how this improves his ledge protection.
Ice Climbers
Are two characters really better than one? In 17 out of 26 cases, that appears to be the case. This "double trouble" character has a lot of pros including its ability to recover, which allows Ice Climbers to reside firmly in the upper echelon of playable ch💟aracters. While Ice Climbers isn't a top-tier character by any means, it is noticeably better than characters ranked below it on the listౠ.
Marth
Marth has a lot to like, basically embodying a faster and stronger version of Roy. Marth generally has a 50-50 match-up against Captain Falcon, Pikachu, and Sheik - three other characters ranked rather high. Additionally, Fox is so common that many top players have essentially opti♎mized their counters for him due to pure repetition, whereas Marth - while 🐈popular - isn't quite at that level.
Jigglypuff
There's a lot to lov🔯e about Jigglypuff. As Mew2King explains, without any rules, Jigglypuff could utilize infinite repetitive ledge grabs and potentially clock in as the number one character. Jigglypuff's recovery is top-notch, and its one-hit KO certainly has its uses. For all intents an⛎d purposes, Jigglypuff is a great choice.
Falco
Falco has it all: ledge dash, lasers, down-airs - you name it. He can play aggressive, or conservative depending on your needs and the match-up. For this reason, Falco has historically been one of the most popular Melee tournament choices.
Fox
And there you have it. Number one is, unsurprisingly, Fo﷽x. Fox is used the most in competitive play of any character in the game. For that reason, lesser-skilled Fox's need not apply - other competitive gamers have already seen it all from Fox. However, for those with the most skill, Fox is a deadly asset. He's almost unanimously favored in two-out-of-three scenarios due to his stage versatility, and no characters have a clear advantage over him. He has the best ledge dash, top-tier forward attacks, and strong up-air attacks. While you may have difficulty using Fox competitively if you're not the best of the best,🔯 Fox near-unanimously claims this top spot.
