Smoots Golf is a colorful arcade-style game featuring both traditional golf and minigolf. While certainly not a perfect game by any means, there is still some simple fun to be had if you are in the mood for some golfing shenanigans, especially if you have played any of the other Smoots sports titles.Smoots Golf is all about golfing and minigolf set across diverse, themed locations from forests to deserts to snowy lands, and even a tropical volcano area. There are also a plethora of wacky characters to choose from. While Smoots Golf is pretty simple to figure out, there are some things to keep in mind to make yoꦆur experience much more enjoyable, mostly if you are brand new to the game.
5 While Mode S꧅hould You Play First?
Smoots Golf featurꦗes three different modes to choose from, but which one should you play first? Surprisingly, the best mode to hop into first is the tournaments mode. The tournaments mode allows you and up to three players in local play to duke it out across either three holes or nine holes, depending on how long you want to play. You ꦇcan also play against the AI characters if playing solo.
The reason you should hop into tournament mode first is that the game walks you through the controls and mechanics. However, if you aren't up for a competition, you can also try out individual holes set across the five themed zones in the exhibition mode. Also, minigolf is an option for a more relaxing golfing experienc⛎e.
4 ꧂ Adjusting Your Shots
Unlike many oth🤡er similar arcade-style golfing games, Smoots Golf has you choose your shot s𝓀trength followed by your shot angle, designated by a small blue indicator to the r🌃ight of the strength meter. Once you get to grips with the controls you will have no problem landing shots on the green, however, lining up your shots perfectly to land where the arrow shows on the map isn't so simple.
In order to adjust your shots, you need to be aware of the trajectory, the wind speed, and the ground surface. This is by no means a simulation ga🐻me, but there are still minor adjustments to make in order to get to the hole with as few shots as possible.
3 𒈔 Choosing The Right Club
Smoots Golf only features three clubs for you to use but you will still want to know which one is best for the situation you are in. Your driving club is used for distance shots where a heavy hit is required. Your driver will typically be youꩵr go-to club for your first and second shots on a co🌃urse, depending on what par the hole is. Alternatively, you can use your wedge to make short-distance, lobbed shots.
Your final club is your putter and is quite self-explanatory. Oftentimes your ball will land on the outskirts of the hole's green with the putter being the default club in this scenario. However, switching ﷽to your we﷽dge is a better move since you can get the ball closer to the hole with fewer shots.
2 ဣ Getting O🌳ut Of A Bunker
One of the gameplay hazards you will have to deal with in Smo🌃ots Golf are the sand bunker hazards. These traditional golfing hazards aren't quite as cumbersome in comparison to similar arcade golfing games but they still require some practice to navigate your ball out of them.
If you happen to find yourself in a bunker🐼, worry not, you can equip your wedge to hit a lob shot. This lob shot will easily knock the ball out of the sand and onto the green. One thing to note when hitt𒅌ing out of a bunker is that you will need to use more power than you might think. The shot strength meter shows a red mark for where the flag is, however, you will often want to hit beyond that to adjust for the bunker's sand.

When you first hop into Smoots Golf, whether that be in the tournament, exhibition, or minigolf mode, y💦ou might be wondering how you unlock the other themed zones. Unlocking each new zone is simple and only requires you to successfully complete a previous stage.
By nature, Smoots Golf is a simpler golf experience, both in golf and minigolf. You can either play the three-hole tournament, the nine-hole tournament, or the four-hole minigolf tournament to unlock a new themed area. With five in total, it won't take long to open them all up. Unfortunately, aside from the new zones, there really isn't anything else to unlo꧅c𝔉k in this game.
