Nintendo has just announced that they are r♋eleasing a Super Nintendo version of their Nintendo Classic Mini line. The rumors were true: the is coming out later this year!
This is a portable system that will carry 21 classic Super Nintendo games, which can be played on a high definition television. It will be released for $79.99 on September 29th. The American and versions of the console will resemble how t꧅he console looked in each region while containing the same games.
The 21 announced games are:
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
EarthBound
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
Yoshi’s Island
The most exciting game on this list has to be Star Fox 2, as it has never officially been released before. Star Fox 2 was due to be released at the end of the Super Nintendo's lifespan, but it was canceled by Shigeru Miyamoto, who wanted Nintendo to make a fresh start with 3D visuals, as Super Mario 64 was about to be released. A few incomplete roms of Star Fox 2 have ✱been leaked o▨ver the years, though they were in an unfinished and barely playable state. This will be the first time that the fans will be able to enjoy the game in full.
The SNES Classic has an incredible line-up of games, with only a few notable absentees (like Chrono Trigger and the other Donkey Kong Country games). This roster is likely to encourage a lot of people to try and purchase the console... with the word "try" being significant. The NES Classic had notable stock shortages and was discontinued whilst many people were still looking to purchase one. Nintendo never gave a satisfactory answer as to why the NES Classic stopped production and fans might be more dedicated than ever to try and 🔴snap up the SNES Classic, in case it suffers a similar fate.
You can make a valiant attempt to try and purchase a Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainme༺nt System when it is released on September 29th.
